He's next.
Gex is the bext

What if he parodied video games instead of movies/TV?
>>379568048
>unfavorable digits.
Not this time
pls
>>379568243
So, what there would be to parody?
Open World/GTA? Generic indie pixel shit? Visual Novel? Dating simulator?
If you're going for so many 'genres' in a single game, there's bound to be a few disasters along the way.

Wait till Interplay finally dies so we can se a new Jim game.

People like Gex only for nostalgia. If there was a modern video game character who's only personality was referencing pop culture /v/ would collectively call it le reddit cancer and sperg out.

Gex is a post ironic meme. His entire appeal is being a dime a dozen platformer mascot who makes painfully forced and outdated movies and television references. He could only live through a game in which he makes exceedingly exact references to late 90's/early 00's tv culture.

I hope, enter the gecko was legit a good game
>>379571351
ive played both gex 1-3 recently and i can tell you people that genuinely like them like them because they are solid platformers

There's that, but the third game had a genuine sense of exploration with shit like in the first level you hit a switch in the hedge maze that unlocks a blood cooler in another room that lets you turn into a vampire. Also the pop culture parodying at least allowed the game to be varied with constantly changing levels and gameplay that added a lot of variety.

The games themselves are genuinely fun though but yeah your completely right. Meme's and the sort of pop-culture reference humor Gex use's are completely mainstream now so /v/ hates them by default.

So basically you're talking about The Legend of Styx.
Can we admire how much of an anomaly Fairytale TV is? It has no connection to films/tv shows. They're all stories. If they went with Snow White, Pinoccio, the early Disney adaptions, etc. it would've worked. What the fuck were they thinking?

I have played Gex: Enter the Gecko and one thing I dislike about this game is that you get immediatly thrown out of the level once you find a red radio. So you're forced to play through each level at least three times if you want everything.

>New Gex
>He only references memes
>>379572759
You're right
There's nothing worth referencing from TV for the last decade. I think the last show with memorable mainstream appeal was Lost
>>379568048
>Gex 3:16
I don't remember thisI'd mark out so much for a new Gex
Is the PC version of Enter the Gecko good?
I only played the n64 version of Gex 3 and I have some interest in the series.
