It's probably the most blunt copypasting in fact. At least when people say D3 copies D1 the setting is different and most of the cast is different (For better and for worse) but most of not all of D5's plotpoints are copied straight out of 4 it isn't even funny.

The only new systems I really liked were the Character World being something unique and the Innocent Farm. Most other stuff is a straight up downgrade with a pretty coat of paint over it in my opinion

Oh yeah, capturing and interrogations in general are pretty nice in D5, definitely. That was just kind of annoying and cumbersome to do enmasse in D4, it's pretty sleek now.
I absolutely HATE the new Item World though. It's completely unfun tedious garbage. Literally just spam Land Decimator for hundreds of floors and ignore everything else, you don't even go into any Mystery Rooms unless you want to try and dupe an item that already has maxed stats.

The best part of interrogations is being able to extract stats from them. Makes getting big numbers easier with the 100 asagi fight.

I wish the Disgaea team made a game without leveling that just focused on fighting unique bosses by making wacky teams of generics using equipment and evilities to be able to defeat them.

Like think MMO boss mechanics but you control the entire party as a SRPG and you need to outbullshit the boss by preparing your team beforehand. Do we even have an enemy that's larger than 1 tile in Disgaea 5?
