I bought a WiiU just for pokken: It's a great game that got fucked over due to a lack of support, demographic issues, and being released on a dead console.

You Nintentoddlers keep using "dead console" as an excuse for ports when MK8 sold over 8 million, and Pokken sold over 1.3 million. 1.3 million copies is pretty fucking good for a fighting game, it got "fucked over" because it was boring and there's not enough depth to keep playing it.

If it actually adds some good content I am fine with a port. The only issue for me is when it doesn't deserve one and if the entire library is ports. The switch needs new games and not just ports before I even think about buying it.

That's absolutely wrong though. It's pretty much mechanically identical to most 2d traditional fighters, but with extra subsystems and mechanics on top of that. It has enough depth.

The problem is that they didn't release the DLC for it, and that all 3 demographics who would have supported it didn't touch it: FGC people just assumed it was casualshit because nintendo and then gave up on it after the terrible evo showing when the game wasn't explored enough to be showecased yet, smash fans don't like it because it's too much of an actual fighting game for them, and pokemon fans are assmad their favorite obscure pokemon didn't make it in.

the extra content is mostly content that was arcade only and doesnt fix the games huge problems that made it not fun to play, like the awful damage scaling on combos, lack of any juggles due to being able to air recover really quick, and the shitty mechanic of phase shifting. it could have just been a slightly tweaked tekken but it decided to be too different and it bit itself in the ass
