James is very clearly characterized throughout the game,and the lack of a definite conclusion to his arc is a cop out, in my opinion. Installed Silent Hill 3 following this guide and got it up and running.

Only thing is that when I move,the FPS drops and the walking gets slow and choppy.

Mount the ISOs of 2 & 3, and then run their installers like always.
The SH1 is a PS1 rip that you gotta emulate.
The "sh2proxy" is a all-in-one fix, that works as a no-cd crack as well. It is included in the pack.
If you use the NEW fix mentioned in the guide, you can use the sh2proxy's EXE as the no-cd crack!

In case you experience issues saving the game / not being able to edit the disp.ini, make sure the files aren't set to "Read Only", and run the game as Administrator.
If SH2 gets stuck in a black screen upon launch, close it and re-start it again.

SH2-4 do not support Xinput gamepads. Either use Xpadder, a DirectInput pad, or just play with KB+M.
You can now see some decent emulator settings for SH1 as well in the guide. If the image of the game does NOT fill your entire screen in fullscreen mode, check your plugin AND GPU control panel's image scaling settings!
Also give the new PGXP emulator a shot for a lot less wobbly PS1 graphics.

Homecoming was actual dogshit. It was trying too hard to be the game for the movie, rather than it's own thing.

The only reason those devs got the project in the first place was because they showed off a bleeding texture that fades into the otherworld, which actually does look really good.

Everything else is dogshit though. The monster designs are really not that great, aside from two boss designs. The plot is dumb and the twist was even dumber. All the characters were unlikable assholes. Most of all though, I can't think of a single thing that was creepy, disturbing, or interesting to look at at all.

What would your most gut-wrenching Silent Hill game be? What would be the setting for a game that would take some inner fear of yours and make you bawl as you keep going?
