Because gothic combat is extremely skill based and you have to avoid enemy's sword, and there is no "press X to roll and dodge all attacks with invisibility frames", you have to manually avoid getting touched by the enemy sword, kind of like in Jedi Academy, and it also looks goof

It's unbelievable how immersive and alive Gothic 2 feels.

After playing it and then playing Morrowind again, morrowind feels completely empty, dead, and static compared to Gothic

If I picked up Gothic would I need any patches or whatever for it?

for steam you need the system packs but it's not hard to install them or anything
combats fun but it takes time to get used to, the controls in general do too
make sure you get a pdf of the manual to get all the controls, there's some really important ones that are crucial to gameplay but you won't find them in game

Is investing solely in magic worth it in Gothic 2? I ground like hell in G1 for it, but in G2 I got it and then burned out because I just didn't want to grind XP for mana. is there a mana regen mod I can use for the sack of playability?
