The problem is that this is just a monster. This could be a werewolf, or a troll, or a whatever the fuck that lurks in dark places and kills people that wander too close. There's nothing particularly unique about this specific interpretation of a vampire, other than how little it's used.

The human looking vampire is the most popular because writers fucking love the "Hurr what if monsters were just like us" spectrum of cliches and vampires are one of the easiest creatures to implement in those types of stories.

If someone is going to write a story about a monstrous creature that kills and eats people, they'll use something like a werewolf.

Because why would you use a vampire in an average monster tale where it's just a creature going around killing people in a forest? What does it matter if it's even called a 'vampire', at that point? The characters could call it a bloodfiend or something and it wouldn't make a difference. It has abandoned many of the traits that we associate with vampires, and so it stops being a story that could only be told with vampires. It's just a werewolf story, or something similar.

However, since it doesn't have anything to do with how the game actually looks it's not enough information to base a purchase on. Thge hard on is because "Steampunk" went back into full swing in the early 2000's with con-goers and sci-fi, and then became prominent in media after Sherlock holmes, Dr Who, and other TV series, and then in 2008 it took off and became an internet fad which then inspired the cons even further, and then started an age of Steampunk for 10 years.
