Seems like it'll be shit like always and ignore the fact that platforming has a refined formula. I wouldn't be surprised if it has fall damage and one hit deaths with Bubsy having too much speed again since "THAT'S HOW BUBSY PLAYS AND WHAT PEOPLE EXPECT!", as opposed to making it more like Gex where it's a solid platformer and the character makes quips.

They actually can, since Bubsy was re-released a year or two ago and clearly sold enough to get that Hong Kong company to back it as a publisher.

This is what happens when Steam sales cause people to just buy games, as opposed to actually sitting down and playing them. Bubsy gets a revival because of how horrible his games were supposed to be and people want to be contrarians or curious about it, yet know nothing of emulation and have excess money.
