Nah, Hennig was a mediocre writer and the story would have been trite as shit if she wrote 4. Before it came out, everyone was sure Nate was going to die and Sam was going to turn out to be the villain (which was how she was planning to write it IIRC), but everyone got it wrong.

Druckmann is much better in general, at least when he isn't trying to push his political agenda. TLOU (base game) has a better story than any actual zombie movie ever made. The ending was A+ quality shit; bittersweet, shocking and unexpected yet still made perfect sense. I'm scared for TLOU2 because he seems to have gotten more and more full of himself as people have heaped on the praise for TLOU, showing less restraint in inserting his political beliefs into everything. Uncharted 4 could have had a fantastic story if he had just changed a few things about Nadine and Rafe, and not made the ending / epilogue feel so feminist. Nadine was supposed to be the secondary antagonist like Talbot or Flynn, but he decided to elevate her to the point where she overshadowed Rafe and was even exempted from all her and her army's crimes

I more meant the fact that Joel killed all the fireflies and their surgeons in order to save Ellie, because they wanted to kill her and dissect her brain to make a cure for the infection. He doomed any chance for humanity to get a cure because he selfishly couldn't bear to lose his "daughter" for a second time. It's anything but cliche and many players felt disgusted with Joel's actions, though his behavior totally makes sense if you look at who he is and what he's been through.

The very end part that you speak of was good too, because you know that Ellie *would* have sacrificed herself for the chance of making a cure if she were asked, so Joel knew he had to lie to her. She suspected he was lying, but what could she do at that point? Their relationship is complicated, but she was glad to still be alive at least

Not that anon but UC4, to me, was the worse of the four. It over-stayed it's welcome. The story went on and on and on. And the game was so damn restrictive. It came to the point where I could look at a part of the level and say "That is a trap that is gonna trigger a "cut scene" where Drake's gonna fall and almost die". And you pretty much had to sneak through the action sections as the enemies surrounded you instantly and killed you in the blink of an eye. I was happy when it ended because I was bored with it.

It still is a game but a game that desperately tries to tell a story too hard. There should be a story for the sake of gameplay not gameplay for the sake of story.

MP is still really fun though.

you're just playing the game wrong
You're supposed to fight them like it's guerrilla warfare. Whittle them down with multi-kill ambushes and ballsy stealth kills against the stragglers until you get detected, then fight your way to safety so you can lose them and get back into stealth. Repeat the whole process until you can finally take the remainder of them out in a straight-up fight.

Stealth is just one tool in your arsenal. If you try to rely on it 100% of the time you will get your shit pushed in, because Uncharted has never been a stealth game
