There will never be a playable race that isn't just "humans with extra bits". This is because not only are they easier to make and animate, they are more popular too. It is most likely because VIT on gear is changing (like, maybe there's significantly more or less) and it would be a hassle to keep changing the calculation so that tank damage stays at the intended level. Having it tied to strength makes it easier to balance.

Yeah. If there's no need to level up every DoH class, there's no real reason to keep specializations. The only reason they existed was to make certain crafted items more difficult to make (since you'd need a particular specialist). The only other function is the bonus Craftsmanship/Control you get from the soul stone, so that your specialists are slightly better at crafting than your others.

I doubt they will remove the system, but it would be nice to see it serve a more interesting function. Rather than locking out certain recipes, specialist actions should just be upgrades of the default actions that make crafting easier on specialists.

I just started this game and it blows WoW the fuck out in most of the ways I wanted, simple example:

Triple Triad.
I always wanted WoW to add an in-game card game, they've had Darkmoon cards forever but didn't do anything much with them. Instead they made Hearthstone but didn't have the confidence in WoW to integrate that game so it's a separate thing.
Triple Triad being a part of this game is really neat, it's simple but it's a nice diversion.
Also Gold Saucer in general just blows Darkmoon Faire the fuck out in terms of content and presentation.
It's these small things that I appreciate.
