I'm only done with 2/4 routes, so far I'm liking it a lot and it's easily on its way to becoming one of my favorite VNs.
It's edgy/chuuni as fuck for sure, but only in the best possible way.
I'd definitely recommend it. The common route is free, so you can just download that and give it a shot. The first hour or two should give you a pretty good idea of what kind of game it is, although shit will obviously amp up a lot more later on.

Out of those I'd definitely say Dies Irae wastes the least amount of your time. Not in the sense that it's the shortest or anything, it's still 60+ hours long, but rather that there is really no filler in it at all and absolutely every scene has purpose.
I assume you played FSN if you were looking at Hollow Ataraxia, but there isn't anything that's there pretty much purely to pad and remind you of a fact it already hammered into your head dozens of times like the breakfast and slice of life scenes in FSN. It treats your time as valuable, if that makes any sense, absolutely every conversation has a deeper meaning or foreshadows something - some more obvious, others less so.
