it certainly is the more complex or fleshed out of the 3 but that doesnt make it the best.

2 had an absolutely solid everything. The levels are memorable, the art is colorful and vibrant with a coherent, near timeless style. The music is full of instant classics. The bosses and secret world are difficult and push the mechanics to the limit.

3 had a dated art style by 2005. The music not bad but much more forgettable than in 2. It does have good bosses I'll give it that. It suffers from tons of weird design choices like the fucking elephant that's basically useless.

No, 2 is but 3 definitely gets too much hate. It's still a perfectly fun game.
