He's technically not even a canon character, he was made as a DX take on Meta Knight for Meta Knight to fight, and given a simple backstory and his own style to make it more rewarding. But he's really cool so he shows up in bonus modes.
Maybe they're thinking up some stuff for him to be a real character in a future game, it would be pretty cool and interesting if that even happened. I'd like to know about his motivations, his past, whether he's a hero or a villain or neutral or whatever, and whether or not he's gotta get back (back to the past).

Oh yeah, he's here forever. The thing about Kirby characters is that generally the side characters are made and used only by their parent director. That's why the animal friends, Ado, and pretty much every Dark Matter character got ditched after Shimmy stopped making Kirby. Bandana Dee, on the other hand, has been used at least once by every current Kirby director at HAL. Whether or not he gets his own big story role is still up in the air, but at least he's here for good.

Not at all canon to the main storyline, but if we're gonna have alternate dimensions and timelines we can fit in an alternate universe where Dream Kingdom exists
And certainly if the circumstances permitted it, the canon universe could've birthed Dark Taranza and Alt Susie
I think its interesting that Alt Susie comes from Another Dimension, I think she is a Mirror World version or the like, but one from a universe closer to the canon one where Susie is present, or maybe even one where Dark Mind succeeded, hence the "mysterious civilization"

Also I read a neat theory that tries to explain how TKCD's canon works: Basically in this universe Dream Kingdom developed, and when the events of TD happened there was an organized Dream Kingdom army that stopped Sectonia instead of Kirby, possibly killing her and destroying the mirror, but leaving Taranza alive to plot revenge and repair the mirror into the Black Mirror. Would also make some of the descriptions still canon to its world, an AM like event could've happened based on the Dark Mind gear (maybe he had a hammer in this world), and Dark Matter is present but still out there plotting

Not really no, they specifically said they did it for design purposes, they tried white eyes but didn't like how it looked in 3D, and decided yellow looked better and would be more consistent with his masked looked anyways, even if it meant foregoing a tradition that was really only brought about due to the original Adventure's sprite limitations. He never once mentioned the newcomers outlook or perception, but specifically acknowledges the old-school fan's reaction was considered, they even started with the intention to keep it as it always has been.

I think that's putting a lot of weight into a simple design matter, any reading into the eye color difference was just on the fanbase's part, and it seems the team was far less attached to it than a lot of fans

That's what nuances are.
You/they assume it was simply that way because of the NES color limitations, but if that was all there was to it Super Star could have easily remedied this, as they made Dedede blue, and gave Kirby red shoes. Then the game after Super Star made his face white again, and the game after that did it again, and the game after that. The properties of the mask were hinted at in Brawl, when Kirby wore his mask, before being abandoned for the next Smash game for consistency. We don't know why the designers made the original choice, but it was clearly intentional and Sakurai put at least a little bit of thought into it. It wasn't until Robobot that he was redesigned for consistency with his masked eyes. Saying it didn't "look right" leads me to believe that the change was not for any aesthetic reason, but because it didn't quite look like Meta Knight them without those distinct, glowing yellow eyes.
Of course it's a small detail, but it's a detail I've always liked. I think it looked better aesthetically, and it gives Meta Knight and his mask a bit more mystery to em. It's just disappointing to see little details you've always liked changed by a newer team for something more predictable.
You clearly prefer Meta Knight with yellow eyes, and you're free to, but I'm not going to stop liking something I liked about the character even if it's not there anymore.

I actually don't care either way, and if I had to I'd say you're not wrong in thinking any of that, but its still a lot of assumptions placed on just a matter of fact design (white unmasked, yellow masked) which the games never directly implied went any deeper.
However I would even argue for you that with how simple the design is, even a basic eye color change is a major change, and for mysterious character like MK its no wonder people are attached to it, and it was a design change not to be taken lightly, so no one is silly for looking a bit (or a lot) into it.

Though I mainly wanted to make a point that there is no need to make judgement based on hearsay or vague memories when we have the written statements to refer back to at any moment. We're lucky to actually have these clear statements on why certain decisions where made right form the dev's mouths, so there's no need to spread misinformation, instead work off what was actually said, not what you remember thinking they said.

Definitely, its a pretty short answer and didn't go into the depth of it all, which is also why I feel it might be too easy to put words into their mouths through the many gaps, when really we don't know the specifics
Better a simple answer than no answer though, like how we have no perspective on the original Sakurai team's decisions. Those would serve as a great contrast but its anyone guess just how much they thought about it, while we at least know Kumazaki and co. had a debate over it and didn't simply forget like some assumed early on.
