I want this kinda stuff, and everything in its vein to fail miserably. Millennial nostalgia for stuff ranging from 90s till mid 2000s needs to go. Remake movies, old ass music artists making music in a similar style they were known for, MMOs like Wildstar that try the "we want the vanilla/tbc audience that loves braindead grinding", 90% of kickstarter game devs, ARPGs that copy Diablo 2, Platinum Games games, etc. This period in time will be known as that period of time a vocal minority of millennials embarrassed themselves by nostalgia bitching about everything, then watched as every nostalgia catering product failed miserably.

Honestly, Pillars sequel is going to flop. I paid a lot of money for the original because I thought about the potential. But the talent of Obsidian is all gone, or they're complete shit without guidance. Either way, I'm sure I'm not alone in having no interest in another obsidian title ever again
