Who was in the wrong here?
>>
Rockstar
>>
>>379432978
I agree with myself
>>
>>379432856
Whoever wrote the script for that shitty excuse of a story was in a perpetual state of wrong.
>>
>>379432856
No one is ever right in this game where every character is written to be an absolute idiot.
>>
>>379432856
Trevor is almost always in a perpetual state of wrong
>>
>>379432856
Fill me in, it's been a while.
>>
>>379433084
>>379433201
Hmmm....
>>
>still implying Trevor was worse than Literally Who: The Walking San Andreas reference, Franklin and Michael "My Family" DeSanta
He was entertaining.
Moreso than Franklin who was so out of place, I was hoping that Lamar was going to shoot him or something and we got to play as him instead.
>>
>>379432856
Do they take turns raping her?
>>
How is GTA5's story? Is it worth it for a faggot like me who plays games for the story to play it?
>>
>>379433235
She gets mad that her boyfriend let a psychopath live in her house so Trevor kills both of them.
>>
>>379433437
Honestly don't bother with it, it's awful.
>>
>>379433539
hahaha holy shit
top tier writing on Rockstar's part
>>
>>379432978
fpbp
>>
>>379433437
It's ok, there are plot points that never go anywhere but the three different characters thing makes it unique among GTA games.
>>
>>379433437
The story is really the only thing that's not perfect in GTA5.
>>
Trevor is basically chaotic neutral in human form but floyd was a pussywhipped bitch and his girlfriend was a horrible fucking harpy of a person.

That's one of the things I kinda like about GTA, everyone's shitty and nobody is ever really "right."
>>
>>379433437
It´s pretty shit, especially since the characters don´t feel fleshed out because the story flip flops around three MCs
>>
>>379433437
It feels unfinished. You never really get to know Franklin, and it all is just rushed.

It feels like it took a backseat to GTA: Online
>>
>>379433539
>>379433604
actually she pulls a gun on him, and to quote trevor "they were not very nice people"
>>
>>379433892

This. I don't recall Trevor fucking with innocent people, he even had a conscience like with that Mexican store owner.

It's the boyfriends fault for being a cuck and her fault for being a bitch.
>>
>>379432856
do you really have to ask?
floyds cousin
>>
>>379432856
This fucked me up good on both playthroughs.

Floyd didn't deserve shit.
>>
>>379433437
Nothing spectacular, but honestly isn't as bad as people here imply. IV was much better in this aspect though.
>>
GTA IV had the best story
>>
>>379433437
The main story is OK, but it really doesn't feel like it's finished; you really have to do all the side missions/Strangers and Freaks and side activities to get the whole story, and if you don't like stories where there isn't one central villain you chase all game, you're not gonna like who you're up against. Also, if you're used to and like the "you and a group of loyal friends fight all your enemies together" stuff, you won't get that here; none of the characters have any true friends (one is loyal, but also a huge liability). Is there anything specific you would like to know?
>>
>>379434412
>Also, if you're used to and like the "you and a group of loyal friends fight all your enemies together" stuff, you won't get that here

But that's literally one of the endings
>>
>>379434583
Yeah, but it's like that only during this ending.
>>
>>379434412
An example of "having to do absolutely everything to complete the story" is that you'll find out one of the characters is regularly grappling with depression and suicidal tendencies, but you'll only find that out by smoking weed with him a bunch of times and paying careful attention to his combat dialogue.
>>
>>379433263
>Hmmm....
Stop typing tumblrina shit.
>>
>>379433731
Agreed 10,000%

Especially if we're talking solely about singleplayer. Fuck that, we are talking solely about singleplayer.

The soundtrack, while above average, was severely lacking in some areas though. For example it sucked that the modern hip-hop station was carried single-handedly by Kendrick. Not really an intrinsic flaw but it's irritating that pretty much the only good songs are his songs. I'm not even a dickrider of his and think he's overrated but it's the truth. Also, the punk rock station is absolutely irredeemably horrendous.

Everything else is okay though.
>>
>>379432856
Floyd and Barbara. All three could have lived a happy life together and they blew it, they basically forced Trevor to paint the walls with them.
No court would convict him.
>>
>>379433084
What is it about this game that infuriates this autist so thoroughly? You know it's the one making daily threads about IV being better, despite it obviously not being the case.

There's no way it could be anyone but Trevor, given that he basically acts like such a cunt through the entire time he's with Floyd.

He shows up in the middle of a happy and hardworking relationship, proceeds to ruin a marriage, get the apartment covered in shit and then tops it off by ruining the marriage, killing everyone and not even telling his brother that he did it.
>>
>>379434816
Although I agree, I think it's mostly due to comparison with the previous games, GTAs always have one of the best soundtracks in general. It was still objectively pretty great, and had some sweet songs in it.
>>
>>379433375
I was hoping to get more gangstah shit from Franklin, but I guess the families aren't what they used to be.
>>
>>379434816
Theres a punk station?
>>
>>379433581
Don't listen to shitdick here, it's a mixed bag. The voice acting and characterization is great, and you might get a kick out of the Heat references.
>>
>>379433731
They could have used the map more. It's huge and ripe with possibilities, but only GATO manages to exploit it.
It's a shame they never made expansions like with IV.

>>
>>379435070
Channel X. And contrary to what the other anon is saying, I think it was pretty good. One of the better ones in the game for me, although granted, I was only listening to like 4 of them.
>>
>>379434874
Floyd was a doormat destined to float through life a failure and Barbara was a modern womyn fucking her boss and coming home to cheesy platitudes and a giant portrait of herself on the wall.

It could have worked, but only because Floyd would have put up with an infinite amount of shit and came back for more.
>>
>>379434961
Floyd was cucked (literally) and didn't have the balls to leave Debra. Also, if you listen carefully during the merryweather heist, all the other dock workers hate him. He literally has no friends.
>>
>>379434679
It's not unlike that for the rest of the game. The trio works together pretty well then they have a stupid fight at the end of the mission, only to forget about it at the start of the next heist. Even when Trevor and Mike have their big fight over the grave, they get back to working together right away. He saves him during the shootout at the Kortz center which is like the very next story mission after.
>>
>>379433437
The main issue is that there aren't an interesting range of side characters who give you missions.

As a result, all the missions feel a little samey as it's one, two or three of the main characters doing something together.

It would have been better if they all had their own shit going on and would come together to help out, pull heists or whatever, but instead you've basically got Trevor and Franklin having almost no time at all to develop as characters whilst Michael gets all the time in the world to be an unlikeable cunt.
>>
>>379434679
And in their interactions afterward, which is why I say it's a flaw that you have to do everything in order to conclude the story; you'll only see the three protags talk about their issues and pasts and try to resolve them after the last mission, during their hangouts.
>>379434816
Don't forget to mention the actual OST; it's the first of the series and it's pretty great.
>>
>>379435275
Mirror Park is good
>>
>>379434108
But that's Floyd in the pic, Wade is Trevor's friend.
>>379434385
IV's cutscenes were a kick in the dick. The concept of pacing completely thrown out of the window, Niko was even more of a whiny cunt than Michael. They tried so hard to take themselves seriously with IV and it completely blew up in their face.
>>
>>379435275
literally the only song I can tolerate is the Black Flag song and I don't even like Black Flag
>>
>>379435489
What are your issues with the pacing?
>>
>>379435662
Kek, talk about different tastes, because this is the only song on this station that I don't really like.
>>
>>379433437
The characters are fun but the story is a mess of just random stuff happening until it abruptly ends.

Trevor Ending is the closest the story has to a development arc, but it still doesn't fix most of the lack of focus in the middle and picking it actively gimps your gameplay options post-game.
>>
>>379434751
Mhhhhhh
>>
>>379432856
>trevor is ranting about something
>floyd randomly spouts that he has a small penis

i don't think the overall story of GTAV was that bad, but god damn sometimes the writing was unbearable
>>
>>379434816
>didn't like any of the stations
>loved the musics playing on missions like the one where you drive to the graveyard
>>
The cuck is the one that's in the wrong.

If he was more of a man none of this would have happened.
>>
All cucks must hang. Trevor did Floyd a favor by killing him and Debra.
>>
I'm still completely baffled by the story mode in GTA V. Who the fuck decided that was ok? After I finished it it was just like... well that... happened.
>>
>>379435972
It was random because he was terrified out of his mind and spouting out anything that might placate or distract Trevor, and it does succeed, what's the issue?
>>
>>379436163
>it was just like... well that... happened
Wo..ah....
>>
>>379432856
Trevor, for being a murderer.
>>
>>379435797
The dialogue is horribly drawn out. I'm doing a replay of IV right now and the redundant dialogue that goes on forever really stands out. It feels like Kojima wrote it.
Not to mention how uncharismatic the side characters are, bar Brucie and maybe Packie. The villains are completely forgettable.

Isn't there a news article or something that hints at Trevor only killing Debra in that scene? I'll try and find it
>>
>>379435846
They went a bit too far with the movie references, but there aren't remotely enough heists as there should be. It's also kind of infuriating how difficult it is to make money in the aftergame. If you didn't exploit the stock market you're essentially fucked.
What's worse, owning property isn't an asset, it just means you're going to have to do the same defense/promotion mission over and over again at regular intervals.
This game could have done with expansions.
>>
>>379435972
He didn't randomly spout it, though, he was scared shitless of what Debra was going to do when she came back and found the place like that, namely leaving him. Which she did. He was trying to convey how difficult it would be for him to find another girl if she left him.
>>
>>379436742
>how difficult it is to make money in the aftergame.
Honestly a gameplay problem I have is how money seems to be absolutely useless. Unless you're trying to 100% and buy all the properties (which I don't personally feel compelled to since ll they do is give a couple fetch quests) you'll never really going to need it. You can buy planes or boats but you can just still one anytime and the fact that while you're doing the usual fun massacring and you accidentally destroy your vehicle or leave it behind in some far of location behind it's gone forever, inconveniencing that you fuck of with the money and just take any vehicle you'll find since you'll probably dump it later.

It reminded me of Bully and how you can easily gain up to a thousand dollars when most ammo costed you five, and it's only there for completionists that wanted to buy every single article of clothing.
>>
>>379436514
Eh, I don't really care if a character is charismatic since that's just one of many personality traits a character could have, and sometimes a character's lack of charisma can make them endearing. I personally found that to be the case with Roman. Since you're playing through the story again, could you maybe give an example from one of the missions you've played of what you mean by redundant dialogue?
>>
>No expansions
But why though?
>>
>>379437303
It's the problem with all Rockstar games. With majority of similar open world games really.
>>
>>379437582
2 new shirts in online make them way more money
>>
>>379437582
the money isn't there anon. Poor Rockstar just cant afford to hire the actors or anyone else. Sure hope they can keep the lights on long enough for Red Dead 3
>>
>>379437335
Pretty much everything involving Faustin, so far. All of the cutscenes durin Elizabeta's missions.
Also your personal feelings about character traits really don't change the fact that they're absolutely unremarkable.
And Roman has plenty of charisma.
>>
>>379437947
Are you sure anon? Are you sure that's the reason behind the lack of expacs rather than what >>379437735 said?
>>
>>379437947
Yeah, I've heard they filed for chapter 11 several times over the last few years. They might not make it, bros.
>>
>>379437947
I've heard that Rockstar doesn't turn on the AC because it gets too expensive.
There's a rumor going around that they don't allow employees to flush the toilets after 5:00 PM
>>
>>379433539
I don't understand what's supposed to be so bad about this. It was a decent use of irony, they weren't expecting a fucking award for the scene. It might get a chuckle at best but it's a damn video game with some humor. It's still a step above most game's humor.
>People actually like Ratchet and Clank's humor, which would have resulted in a cancellation after one season if it was a kid's cartoon
>>
>>379438152
I'm very sure anon
that's why they couldn't even afford to bring Niko's VA in for 5. Guy was just asking too much. There's a reason Michelle only shows up twice and why there's only 5 good songs on the radio

Playing this game now. Fuck I don't even want to progress the story. I just want to fuck around with the game and go for a ride into the country listing to whatever rock stations they have. That was the mother fucking shit back in San Andreas. I can't be the only one who went to the countryside while listening to K-DST.

>>
>>379438109
I guess I can agree with you on Faustin and Torres, and their purposes could have been done in less missions, but it's not like either were purposeless; the former was a false flag and a pawn in order for Dimitri to eliminate Niko as a loose end, and if that failed, get Bulgarin into America and after Niko again by destroying everything Roman had worked for, and Elizabeta is the reason why you meet Packie in the first place and is therefore indirectly responsible for everything the two of you were able to accomplish together, including the bank job, while also serving as a narrative thread to tie the base game and The Lost and Damned together. Even so, neither really show up for very long anyway. Roman also is decidedly uncharismatic during the story, he's loud, but he's a coward and liar who barely scrapes by life, and nobody respects him apart from Niko and Mallorie, and even Niko isn't afraid to make fun of Roman when he wants to. And "absolutely unremarkable" is really just as much the personal feelings of a person as my own opinions on character traits, but I suppose that's inevitable when discussing something that can never be objective in the first place.
>>
>>379439816
Mmhhmmm...
>>
>>379440816
Going over the plot doesn't necessarily justify it. Going from the characters in San Andreas to the characters in IV was a slap in the face, to say the least.
The more serious tone does have a place in GTA, but it can't become the center of the entire game.
>>
>>379440556
You don't spoon with your bros after a hard game of handball and a bro shower? What are you, gay?
>>
>>379441695
Of course it doesn't; that's why I said I agreed with you on those two characters, but with the stipulation that they're not as pointless as you think because of the plot points I listed and that they help flesh out the melting pot cesspool of crime that Liberty City in this era is portrayed as. Personally, I found most if not all of San Andreas' characters, though fun, to be rather unremarkable myself, but maybe that's because I've seen a lot of hood flicks and done quite a bit of research into the hip-hop culture at the time for my pleasure, so I was keenly aware of all the tropes and archetypes presented and wasn't really surprised by anything, unless I was gawking at how outlandish the story sometimes got considering CJ's background.
