What should my FFVI party be?

Terra and Celes for sure. Then anyone like Locke, Edgar, Shadow, Sabin, maybe Setzer and the samurai guy as well because you'll have them all racked in powerful endgame gear that helps do more damage than any of their abilities.

i used tera, sabin, edgar and setzer the most, with very frequent appearances from locke, celes, and gau

everyone else i sort of leveled too just because, but people like cyan and umaro were perma-bench tier

Sabin and Edgar, because they can do group damage without eating MP

then you'll need a healer, either Terra or Celes for the added benefit of Morph or Runic

4th spot is situational. you want a tank? Cyan or Setzer. DPS? Shadow or Gogo. and if you want to eliminate random battles altogether, Mog.

Just use Tera cause she's the best character she gets Trance and then the rest can be filled with whoever minus Cyan, Gogo, and Umaro who kinda just suck

everyone is op as fuck when esper levelled, use whoever you want. well, maybe except umaro.

break the fuck out of the game:
genji glove, offering, atma weapon (steal a second one from sleep during final battle and murder kefka in one, 8-hit (9999 per hit) round))

None of them are "useless". They're all basically the same so you can feel comfortable just choosing the characters you like withought having to worry about sucking. And before you bring up hurr durr unique abilities, there is NO unique ability in the game more powerful than quick/gengi glove/8 attacks or vanish/x zone, which any character can do.

Terra, Celes, Relm, Gogo. Abuse the shit out of their high magic stats and spam ulitma every round and have Terra or Celes do the 16 hit combo bullshit. Turns the game into a cake walk. No other party combo can compare.
