I'm pretty damned sure a full featured 15dollar saga game would have done pretty well on the digital market place.

I really wish publishers would quit trying to find ways to squeeze more money out of games and just let the devs make good games and be done with it. I know devs need deadlines and that kind of stuff from publishers so they don't take forever making a single game but whenever publishers start trying to slice up and sell games piece by piece it just doesn't work. As for 30 years of Final Fantasy dear god, please tell me we will get some of the best remasters in the series. Possibly even FF8. It just seems like its lackluster for now.

Final Fantasy is the only series that consistently lives up to sales expectations in the west.

XV was a huge success despite the relentless shitposting. Meanwhile all of their western published games like Hitman and Tomb Raider are underperforming and most of their Japanese games like Star Ocean can't find any footing at all. The only noticeable exception in recent memory was Nier Automata which was an extreme anomaly for Yoko Taro games.

At TGS they'll have Dragon Quest to talk about, but if they don't have anything to show for Kingdom Hearts at E3 this year expect more and more FF.
