I have my doubts. Nintendo are doing the DLC thing and will probably push it continuously in the Directs. I'm anticipating a lot of /v/ threads and Twitter raving for new character reveals considering how Minmin and Twintelle alone made everyone go crazy. Kind of expect it to get a dedicated scene considering even Splatoon has a pretty competitive scene and some esports stuff going on.

Complete opposite for me. The more I played it, the more I learned and the more fun it became to me. By the second weekend when the game started matching up by player skill was when the game was starting to become really exciting for me, almost more so than Splatoon, which I needed more content than the Testfire to have fun with.

Splatoon had large data updates once every few months. That was when the big balance patches and weapon reveals were shown for the first time. So we may find out things like we are getting a wind dragon in advance or new colors, but new characters, stages, and modes will have announcement trailers.

Nintendo got a lot more crafty in hiding their content once the Splatoon datamining became a widely known thing though. After the Summer update most of the "planned content" that wasn't weapons or clothing only existed as non-descript placeholder content.

I can see them time-locking new ARMS but not new characters.

As for datamining, its not gonna happen on Switch. No doubt there's some character and weapons ready for a quick rollout after release hidden on the cart. We can assume its the final boss given clues we've seen in commercials.

I thought so to, to a degree. I really liked the 'attacking' in it, but the 'movement' really left something to be desired. It kind of felt like moving tanks around, and fat tanks at that. It was a struggle sometimes to get the characters to move left/right/forward at the speed I wanted. Anyone else think this to?

Not really. I played on sticks and the characters I played as (Twintelle and Helix) were fun to move around with their dashing quirks.

It's fun, but it gets old quick.
The first few testpunches were great, but I didn't even bother with most of the Round 2 testpunches.
It feels like I've done everything the game has to offer, and I really don't think it'll have the lasting potential Mario Kart and Splatoon have. I might pick it up when it gets a price drop / more content is out, but there's no way it's a Day 1 buy.

I know that they have a 1v100 mode for this game, but I think that a horde mode that could be done co-op would be a great inclusion for more content. If done right, it could have a lot of replay value.
