I have to say I'm not enjoying the past few episodes. The group feels unkillable, every fight they get into is incredibly easy, with or without the super powerful items Ben is throwing out. They essentially have an unlimited amount of gold. The game has been on autopilot for a while, I have no clue who the Ren or guitar guys are, or why they're even in the party.
I have to say that with hindsight I don't think the series was ever that good, the first couple of episodes were bad, the island episodes were bad, the village episodes weren't that great, the kalveed episodes lacked any kind of focus to the point where it was kind of embarrassing to watch Ben desperately throw out plothooks only to have the party completely ignore them. Best part of the series was Law, mainly because he (frequently) displayed that the players could lose. But it took Huber going full retard to get him killed off, he had to run head first alone into an army to die.

I actually like Ian. You can tell he doubts virtually everything he says, he has zero confidence in himself and believes every word of the people who shit all over him so I wouldn't put too much stock in the words when he comes across as arrogant or pompous since he probably regrets saying them 30 seconds later.
He's a depressed guy who lost his mother and is clearly struggling for an identity but I thought he was one of the better people at GT for a long time during their early days of Mandatory Update and things like the German character sketch on final bosman or speaking with Buttons.
He's a behind the scenes guy naturally and I think works better on edited footage with rehearsed lines, where he can actually communicate as he would wish rather than saying things off the top of his head.
The problems started when the GT crew got so small he had to be flung in front of a live mic on podcasts and I continue to think that doesn't really suit him.
