I like the game, it feels like Oblivion Online, that is a single player game with other players roaming around. But jesus fucking christ EVERY STORYLINE in ESO is "an ancient evil has awakened, you must help this ancient ghost to destroy it". I am not kidding, almost every single storyline I've played has been like this. I've talked to more ancient ghost NPCs than alive NPCs. It's really annoying.

Site says 20-22 USD for Morrowind. Look through everything first and figure out what edition you want though. If you don;t think you'll play as an Imperial just get the standard game. There's collectors editions, digital upgrades, etc and there's no rush to buy the expansion or DLC as the base game will last you a while. And in the event you don't get into it you're only out the cost of the standard edition key.

It's fun and comfy. Looks pretty great as far as MMOs go, class system kinda sucks but it's still fun to play while leveling. Doesn't really have the class depth to make tryharding endgame content worth it. Just relax and solo some questlines, it's worth.

I'd say they're worth it but I'd also say I'm a fan of the game so take that as you will. Maybe just try it out first and you can buy the DLC later.

The game, at least the base game, has the dullest shit quests imaginable. Dull premises, nothing interesting ever happens, and the objectives are always the same MMO checklist shit. In my dozens upon dozens of hours (played until The Rift before One Tamriel was introduced) not even one quest had an interesting or non-standard solution.

Also, they sort of did away with zone linearity, but it still feels linear as hell. Each part of each zone is its own containment field, you arrive, immediately see the questline start, do the entirety of the questline within said sub-zone, leave, get to the next. It's the most soul crushing, artificial shit I've ever played.

Also, expect all gear and almost all architecture to look like complete ass. No settlement looked truly unique, not even fucking Ebonheart.

Maybe things are better in the expansions, but TESO is one of the worst games I've ever played.

I've haven't done a lot of dungeons, I mostly do the solo quests. They're fun I guess but a bit easy, the veteran dungeons are supposed to be harder but I haven't done them.

The difficulty is a bit shit after the One Tamriel update, I noticed at least with my character that the only way I ever almost die is when they throw a bunch of mobs at me instead of one or two. In quests that were low level before One Tamriel, they only ever have 1-2 enemies that you kill in 5 seconds, but in the higher level quests like the final quests in regional storylines they'll have groups of mobs supported by healers and those are more difficult. Unfortunately it seems like most of the game is the former.

Also yes there is still PvP. But PvP in the game is a bit unbalanced. There is regular PvP, then the imperial city dlc is PvEvP, and morrowind has a group PvP thing.

Even WoW started to have unusual quests at some points - back in Cataclysm or even WotLK. They're gimmicky, but succeed at breaking the monotony. Also, WoW had a better world and gameplay to compensate back then. Hell, even nu-WoW is better than TESO.

There is a work around. It takes some time but during a f2p weekend if you make a guild and enough accounts to invite to the guild you can unlock the guild bank and it is 500 free bank slots. You just can't put bound items in there but I use it to store crafting materials instead of buying eso plus.

I played it for about 20 hours, had a great time but then just stopped. Anyone else do something similar? I don't know why. Also the first person gimmick looks and plays like complete shit.
