There's a few spots that they never updated to 16:9 and I love hanging out in those areas. It makes me nostalgic and makes me miss the game that was.
I started playing MS in beta and I've seen that stupid game change so much. It's always been a grind fest, but at least it used to have some sort of soul and charm. The game now is so soulless and the entire point is to rush to max level.

For me it's just remembering good old times. Things are good now as well, just in a different way. Sometimes I wish I could experience games like WoW (or Jedi Outcast multiplayer) for the first time again.

You can't expect games to give you the same "first time" feeling, because you already had that. Only truly new things give you a similar experience again, like really good VR (when/if that ever happens) or something.

When you realize that, it won't matter as much anymore. Just enjoy games for what they are and you'll still get great entertainment out of them, just don't expect them to give you that first feeling of wonder.

It's set in fantasy korea, and went into beta in 1993. The hunting is fairly traditional and simple, but still compelling in its own right. It's largely player run - there's lots of politics between kingdoms, clans, subpaths, and other positions of authority held by players.

The community is very close, most of us have been here a long time and it's a special place to us. There's still people here that actively roleplay well, which you don't see much these days.

The game itself is still subscription-based, but these days you can play until max level for free. ("Max level" doesn't mean much, the vast majority of your progression is after reaching level 99)

If you want to take a look around, everyone's happy to see visitors and are generally pretty helpful as long as you're polite.
