As a german myself my anus is prepared for the Witcher 3 comparisons.

Then again this shit will most likely fly under most people's radar.

When will German games become good again? Settlers and Anno were great and influential at their peaks, but I can't recall any recent German success stories in game development. The closest might be Deponia, but even that's just a 'decent' point-n-click. We are being schooled by the Poles and Turks and I don't fucking like it.

The last game I really liked from them was Risen 1. Risen was a pretty good try at recreating the magic of Gothic 1 and 2. Didn't totally succeed, but was a solid 6-7/10 game, replayed it twice.
