Yo, /v/, Is this a good build?
I currently don't care about 4k gaming, but would like a little bit of future-proofing in case it interests me in the future.
Please critique my build and offer changes/ suggestions, if you have any.

I have a budget of 2,000 USD
>>
get a boot ssd
>>
>5400 RPM drive
>no poptarts
>>
>>379387098
>4TB HDD
Woah there Skippy

Get a 250gb SSD for boot and a 1TB HDD for storage IMO.
>>
>>379387098
Get an SSD, you fucking troglodyte. Also, you can get a way better monitor for only a tiny bit more money.

>>
I like how everything but the 1080 is budget specially the fucking shit monitor lol.
>>
I don't know much about Ruzen boards but why are you getting DDR3 ram in 2017? Surely they support DDR4. Probably also best to do something like 1 or 2TB hdd with and SSD combo.

Also, your gpu is way overkill for your monitor. I know you said future proofing but good lord.
>>
For starters, make sure you get DDR4 RAM. Next, if you're going for 1080p, you can save a lot of money by going for a 1070 instead. Alternatively, if you still want a 1080, grab a 1440p monitor instead. You can also save some cash by grabbing a 750w or 650w PSU, I doubt you'll ever need anything past those. Grab a 250gb SSD for your OS and a few games too. I wouldn't recommend grabbing a single high capacity hard drive like that since there have been reports that they tend to experience hardware failure a whole lot more so maybe you should grab 2x 1tb HDDs instead or 2x 2tb HDDs.
>>
>>379387098
Ryzen only supports DDR4, your RAM's are DDR3.
Get yourself some Ripjaws mate.
>>
a gtx 1080 is a bit much for 1080p. Either get a 1440p monitor or save a bucks and get a 1060/1070.
>>
>>379387525
Also to add, make sure to grab 7200rpm HDDs. 5400rpm will have a noticeable negative impact on your games.
>>
>>379387098
Get a 144hz monitor instead. Get an ssd for your OS and most often used programs. Get DDR4 memory, not DDR3. The gtx 1080 is pretty overkill for 1080p, even 144hz, so it might be worth it to go for a 1070.
>>
>>379387606
this.
even with a 1070,
you're good to go for the next 5 years, and 10 years if you willing to play at medium/low settings.
>>
>850W PSU
You sure you have enough boy? Maybe it's better to go full retard get 1050W just to be sure.
>>
>>379387098
>1080p 75hz and with GTX1080
Are you mentally challenged ?

Alright, how about this?
Continue to shit on my choices if they deserve it.
I'm sitting at $2,024.USD with this build, i'm willing to go up to $2,050
>>
>>379388901
Much better. If you're comfortable with the price then go ahead. I'm not so certain of Ryzen's performance so maybe other anons can help review your choice better.
>>
>>379388901
Looks good to me.
>>
>>379388901
>750watt
Dude what is wrong with you? Do you have brain damage or something? 550watt is more than enough for your system. Even if you overclock everything it will still only draw 440watt max.
>>
>>379388901
I'm sure there's something we could nitpick but you will be very happy with this.
>>
>>379387098
This build is atrocious. Did you even bother doing research before picking these parts?
Get at least 3000MHz DDR4 RAM
Try to find some SSDs that are in good condition on eBay (256GB min)
Either get 1440p monitor or 144hz 1080p monitor
>No CPU cooler
>850w PSU for a single card and 95w CPU
Are you planning to SLi? I think it's not worth it.
This should go to /pcbg/ tbqh.
>>
>>379388901
Looks good. Just needs some poptarts to go with them.
>>
>>379388901
>750W PSU
>850 PRO SSD instead of 850 EVO
>2400Mhz RAM instead of 3000Mhz
>1600X instead of regular 1600
>No CPU cooler
You can really tell this build was made by someone who has no fucking clue about PC's.
>>
>>379390396
I have no fucking clue about PC's
>>
>>379388901
Ryzen is shit for video games
Might as well get a 960 pro instead of 850
No CPU cooler?

Here ya go. OC that 1600 to 4.0Ghz and you're good. Don't be a fag next time and go to /pcbg/ on /g/
>>
>>379389351
I had 1200W for 480GTX.
fight me

I don't like going here, and you want me to go somewhere worst? Fuck you, nigger.
>>
>>379392695
Swallow you're pride cocksucker because asking for PC advice on /v/ just means you're going to get overpriced shit.

This, 90% of anons here think the more expensive part is better and don't go by best valve per dollar.
>>
>>379393050
It's called price/performance you tard
Not everyone is biased towards specific companies and are actually smart enough to get the best stuff for their money they can
>>
A 1080 is seriously overkill for 1080p and 75hz. It'd be worth it to either upgrade to a 1440p monitor or get a gtx1070
>>
OP, I'm seeing a lot of questionable advice in this thread, likely just due to Ryzen being new and various info not being widespread like how RPM isn't the sole dictator of an HDDs speed and how the speed of your memory really doesn't matter so paying for more doesn't help. If you have questions about this build feel free to ask but this is gonna be generally quality choices for your price range to get a fantastic experience.

If you have any further questions just ask, you can get Windows keys for $30 or less on keysites and I left the rest of the budget open for whatever peripherals you prefer.

>>379394820
Also beforehand I realize most people don't "need" a large m.2 SSD, an i7 unlocked CPU or such large amounts of RAM and HDD storage but bear in mind this is someone who has a lot of money to spend on futureproofing and quality hardware so getting things that might be overkill for some makes sense here

>$177 for a 75hz monitor
invest an extra $20 and get a 144hz monitor. If not just get a normal 60hz monitor and save about $80
>>
>>379388901
Do you really need to spend $600 on a monitor? Unless its IPS, its not worth it.
