From what I've heard from those that played, monks actually are fine. A lot of them are already saying that they are going to run Monks for raids when they were able to try them out in the dungeon that was available for them in the media tour. They specifically said that the additions weren't exciting, but they were really needed for Monks to be used. Also Brotherhood was proccing really well they said.

I actually programmed a simulator to see how Monk was doing (since its combo logic is pretty damn simple) and I'd totally believe that. 5% of the total raid damage 1/6 of the time plus basically a free Forbidden Chakra isn't a match for Trick Attack, but it's not really that far off, and their personal DPS is pretty well improved from HW - they don't match the 305 PPS number I saw being thrown around for Samurai, but they also naturally scale better with Critical Chance due to Chakra's generation.

Their shit doesn't look flashy nor does it presumably feel very good to play with, but they're by no means nerfed in any way.

Pretty safe. Their rotation was simplified to retard levels but other than that they have more or less the same capabilities as they do now. Tanks also have a Shadewalker variant so that might not be as relevant anymore but it's much weaker than NIN's and eats up one of their cross-role slots so NIN will probably still be the go-to class if you want major aggro manipulation.

Is it 50% in the JP tooltip? The English one had 30% and that's what I was estimating with, just a pure .3 * critrate chakra gain for each weaponskill (outside of in-stance bootshine).

If it's the same as it was in Heavensward, it's going to take you about 200-300 hours to get to the cap and finish the story quest (+probably unlock flying mount in every single location AFTER you've already finished all important quests there). Then, if you want to actually play raids and stuff, you will have to grind some trials and dungeons (unless you're lucky) to get decent gear, which is probably 100 more hours.

And if you actually read through all storyquests and watch cutscenes, I pity you, since not only you manage to enjoy the terrible writing, but you're wasting a lot of your time with it.

Finally got NIN to 60, I'm left with WAR at 51, DRG at 52, BRD at 50, WHM at 56, BLM at 51 and MCH at 37 to get up to 60. I'm also leveling up the crafting classes thanks to the moogles.

Make that since the start of HW, it's been two expansions and we got absolute shit for new skills, HW only introduced 2 usable ones, Elixir Field and Form Change and we had to wait till SB for the chakra-powered ones to be usable more than once per fight and making some HW skills viable is the best thing brought by SB even if it's still not completely true since Riddle of Earth now entirely replaces Tornado Kick.
Meanwhile other DPS had skills brought in either HW or SB that heavily changed their rotation, monk is now even easier to play than at release since they never ever complexified it and it now loses two DoTs.

That and the 3 Fists skills are still completely uninteresting and wastes of skill slots, their "evolved" version like Riddle of Fire could've been integrated to the monk as a change to Greased Lightning depending on which Fists are active for the last skill of your combo, like Fists of Earth changes it to Greased Dirt that heavily increases the damage but reduces the skill speed like Riddle of Fire currently does, Fists of Wind being the opposite while also reducing the skills CD and Fire being the current effect.

The stuff that comes up in trial roulette is (for the most part) fairly forgiving when it comes to mistakes. Plus, you won't need to swap or deal with tankbusters in your roulettes.
