Time limits are the shit in RPGs. Games totally lack any sense of urgency. Fallout, Star Control, Daggerfall, even recent Lightning Returns were better for it.

Git gud faggit.

I like you.
>you must do shit tons of side quests (actually all of them)

Got any recommendations, I love time limits on RPGs.

Global time limits (very generous for almost all games):
Ultima V (1988)
Magic Candle (1989)
Realms of Arkania (1992)
Star Control 2 (1992)
Fallout 1 (1997)
More console-oriented: Majora's Mask (2000), Lightning Returns (2013).
Honourable mentions: Daggerfall (1996) had time limits for guild quests
Wizardry 7 (1992) had no time limits explicitly, but implemented a neat concept of competing parties (effectively a time limit).

fallout wasn't that bad, but the one in suikoden 2 ruined an otherwise great game.

You rock dude, that's a good list.
>Majora's Mask/Lightning Returns
Yeah I forgot that they took that concept, wish I actually liked 13.

No mention of Final Fantasy 9?
>No matter what you do and how much the game you complete, the secret ending is hidden behind choosing the right answers in a conversation at the end of the game and perfectly performing the mid-credits minigame.

Many of the atelier games have time limits.
Recettear has similar time constraints.
what do you gain from time limits? whats so wrong with playing at your own pace?

>whats so wrong with playing at your own pace?
Nothing. It's just that most of these people are the ones who never finish games.
A time limit more or less forces them to complete it.
