Yakuza will definitely go down in price so you may as well wait.
I wouldn't count on that with Gundam as it's HK import.

US got limited, amazon only physical release, which makes it extremely rare
If you want it physical get EU or HK version - the original DLC is on disc, integrated into remastered game, so there's no problem with accessing it on out-of-region PS4
Also, the $50 is probably used one, new ones can approach $80-$90.

Sophie seems to be the better one (at least for me), but also far more casual. Definitely watch some gameplay videos first, the games are not for everybody - they are not really combat oriented (there is combat but most of the time it's piss easy and if not then you can cheese your way out of it with overpowered items - one-hit kill AOE bombs and such), most of the time you will spend mastering the crafting system and gathering resources. Also, the graphics are a bit on the ugly side.

that's what I do for most of my games, buy it several months down the line, used or on sale

again, sale or used. ebay seem to have them a bit cheaper, but there's always a bit of a risk in buying on ebay. 1 is going to be a bit expensive no matter what - US got their limited release which made it rare, EU means you (or the person / shop you're buying from) will have to pay extr shipping fees, etc.
2 is still relatively new and will go down in price, 1 not so much.
