I feel like no matter where I put things, the hotbars are always in the way. I put them on the side and now I can't see shit there. I put them on the bottom and now I can't see shit there either. It's not like it affects my ability to play or dodge. But I start to feel a little claustrophobic when more and more UI elements show up.

If there was a way to collapse the space between icons in the hotbar trays and specifically scale just the icons down to a smaller size, I'd be a lot happier.

You're at the chokepoint spot. You gotta get i230 to enter the expert dungeons and i235 the last 24-man, and the highest content you can do before being i230 only gives i230 gear at highest so you basically gotta get a near-full set of i230 gear.

Progress thru the MSQ for the dungeons and also do Weeping City. They might net you some i225 gear and i230 respectively. At that point you probably wanna do Gubal Hard or ARF or Weeping City for Scripture. You'll be using the item that drops at the end of each Weeping City to upgrade your tome gear tho so maybe do more than just run of that.

The scripture gear can be upgraded to i240 with one set of the lower two mhachi coins (void ark and weeping city) at one of those Idyllshire girls (Bertana? The one on the right).

If you want the weapon you'll have to progress thru Alexander and do the 4th part of Midas 4 times to get an item that drops from it each run. Trade that, with 10x Scripture tokens, to the girl on the left in Idyllshire to get a weapon.

I'm not sure how good pvp is to get gear, the above is what I did.

Technically the lalafells have unique features. If by features you mean a unique model that isn't just a human stretched longer (elves) or shorter (cats).

What they should have done is add more customization options. If a 'low' budget game like Phantasy Star Online 2 could do it, so can FFXIV. Instead, every race just has the same 4-5 face options and the same body. Even changing breast and height size is pointless.

I bought the game at 2.0 and played through the 'story' in about 5 days. Then tried crafting and side quests until my month expired. Came back to the game after Heavensward released and literally fell asleep doing the story quests. Quit the game in annoyance. Pretty much. There being so much gear made to fit on so many races, especially back when the game was limited by PS3 RAM, means they're going to take as many shortcuts as they can. This is why barely any sets are still in the game that have tail holes for mi'qote, and why their asses were nerfed.
