ShiroBrawl gives me hope as a Puyo player amidst the seas of Tetris players. But damn does he have to fight for it. Learn to assign colors to certain parts of your board. Usually grouping 3 puyo of the same color tends to work well into building them into a chain.

The inherent problem with puyo tetris is that it's an uphill battle for puyo players

It's so much easier to clear garbage in tetris than in in puyo, you just need to get one opening and it's good

You need to get that 4 colour line up for puyo which is harder than it sounds, so the only viable strategy is to build up a massive chain and drop it to push in the tetris player with garbage, all while keeping an opening to drop a combo or a smaller combo in case they get a tetris, or keeping options open in case you get some garbage'

I wonder how the balance of the game would be affected if puyo players got a hard drop or a hold slot...

I've only been watching his streams for a couple of months now but I notice when he plays someone he knows he's better than, he usually gets giddy about "oh boy time to style on them".
