More plausible, but we don't actually know a whole lot about what Irvine is capable of. Geralt is kind of at a disadvantage against an enemy that is basically a living ballista, since he doesn't use a shield, but then again, so is Guts.

I'm really interested in seeing how that confrontation is going to go assuming we ever fucking reach that point.

Geralt might possibly be able to hold his own in a swordfight for a while, and may pull some sign/potion bullshit to gain the advantage against the relatively simple sword-only Guts. A successful Axii and Yrden could stagger Guts long enough for Geralt to execute him.

Not even just the armor, I think Guts himself has some of the same properties of the sword, in the fact that he's killed so many things in the spirit realm and has been in between the real world and the spirit realm for so long that he has otherworldly strength and power.

The thing is, Guts is all about superhuman strength, while Geralt is all about finesse. He has abnormal strength, but it's less about how much muscle he's putting behind a blow and more about using the exact right amount of muscle in general.

Guts vs. Geralt isn't even str vs dex. Guts is a Quality build.
