I would switch to Gog in a heartbeat but these games have to come with it:

MGSV
RE7

Otherwise I have to stay on Steam, sadly. Gogo is obviously the better service.
>>
>>379322125
the thing is you can sync your account, and the games get added for free

the thing is all these new games added are usually timed
so basically you have to check every other month for new games to sync
it is a way for the devs to somewhat control how many games get synced
>>

Fucking sweet. Just got DRM-free copies of Brutal Legend, Dropsy, La Mulana, and Not a Hero.

I'll fucking take it.

Are you retarded? Who gives a fuck if they're timed or not? Pay attention for two god-damned seconds, set up a script to remind yourself, and reap the harvest of DRM-free games on a great platform.
>>
>>379324106
it is a pretty sweet deal
i can't understand why people don't get it
you can uninstall the gog client if you don't need it, but this way you have a bunch of your steam games synced to DRM free copies

The way I'm looking at it is that this is just upgrading my Steam library from being a good platform to a great one.

Now a selection of my Steam games can be loaned indefinitely to friends as if I had a physical copy, but I can't lost it or get it damaged beyond repair. Win win.

>>379324409
MFW what kind of retard-fag logic is that?

"I'm not getting the absolute maximum benefit out of the program because I didn't hear about it right away, so what fucking good is it!?"

That's retard talk. Stop being retarded.

Don't think of it in terms of what you missed out on, think of it in terms of what you're gaining. I "only" got copies of Brutal Legend, Dropsy, La Mulana, and Not a Hero this time. On the other hand, I got officially-licensed, DRM-free copies of Brutal Legend, Dropsy, La Mulana, and Not a Hero this month while not spending a single fucking cent.

I don't even have to DOWNLOAD them now.

Stop being a bitch because you missed out on a couple titles. Maybe they'll come back, maybe they won't. But the longer you wait, the more titles you miss out on.

>>
>>379325343

Because finding them is inconsistent and a pain in the ass sometimes? Unless GOG goes down forever, I now have copies of these games which I can redownload at any time.

If a friend wants a copy of a game in my GOG library, I don't have to find him an installer on some shady website. I log into GOG, pick a few titles to download, and he's good to go by the time we're done dinner.

I don't even have to keep the installers handy. Why bother keeping it around if I can just grab it whenever I need it?
>>
>>379321408
The title among those I have is Deponia.
But the only one actually part of the gog connect, is only the first Deponia, isn't that right?

If it's just the first chapter then I'll probably not even bother.

It's more likely GOG going down than not being able to find a video game in the internet
>>
retard here

let me get this straight, I only get the games I already own on steam right?

what's the point of switching to GoG?
>>
>>379325951
you dont have to 'switch'
you just get the games in the promotion for free
they are DRM-free copies
it is truly owning the game, and not like Steam, were you are just a subscriber to play that game
>>
steam users are ruining videogames
>>
>>379325743
why are you trying to fuck them over when they are doing the right thing?
>>
>>379326037
You don't own any game on any platform, you own a license. GOG is basically Steam with cracked games, you're literally paying for shit you can do yourself
>>
>>379321408
wait wait wait
what if you buy a game on steam
claim it on gog connect and download
then refund the game on steam
>>
>>379326295
i guess, that by having the account synced, your refund will trigger a removal on your GOG account
>>
>>379326080

I'm not fucking them over. If my friends are interested in The Witcher 3, I give them the game so they can play it. Three of the five have subsequently bought copies themselves, in addition to buying The Witcher 2 and Witcher 1 Enhanced.
>>
>>379326434
but once downloaded gog doesn't ask you to confirm if you still have the copy right? that's the whole point of gog I though
>>
>>379326623
yeah that is true
anyway, you have the gog installers ready to pirate everywhere if that is your thing
>>
>>379326623
At that point you may as well pirate. Half the point of building a GOG library is so that you have access to redownloading it and the goodies later on.
>>
>>379326037
How is it "free" if I already paid for it?
>>
>>379326979
because you get a free DRM-free copy of a game that you own in a DRM platform (Steam)
>>
>>379326821
>>379326875
yes yes, I was just pondering if they thought or cared that this is possible
>>

>if you can't understand what are the benefits of a DRM-free copy of a game, i can't help you, sorry
Maybe you should explain it to me then. I've used Steam for 8 years and have never had a single problem with the service. Why should I bother with this?

>only get 10 games from connect
>gog is so shit it cant even have 1/5th the library of steam
>>
>>379329179
>No point in explaining it to you

Why's that? Most of the arguments I see go something like
>but if Steam goes down you will lose all your games!
If Steam goes down I'm never go to trust another vendor either, I'd just go full on pirate mode.
>>
>>379321408
Fuck GoG, fuck GoGcucks.

God bless Steam. Steam 4 life.
>>
>>379329371
>I'd just go full on pirate mode.
By the time steam goes down piracy will have been eradicated
>>
>>379329505
That's some hopeless delusion you've got there.
>>
>>379325743

That's fine. I'm talking about myself. I NEVER use GoG outside of a rare few titles that aren't on Steam that I want to play (Shogo). So it's funny to me that I connect the Steam titles to it but never use it.

Once Gwent hits Steam, I'll uninstall Galaxy.
>>
>>379321408
I wonder if they will have the new Bethesda games on connect any time soon. I want them on Gog, but can't justify buying them again right now
>>
>>379325743
>>379326463
Why don't you just fuck back off to Reddit.
>>
>>379329768

Sounds dumb as shit
>>
>>379329885
>right now
Can you ever justify buying them again?
>>
>>379329996
Once I get some more money, and they get a big sale. I like to support GOG
>>
>>379330115
Why not just buy a different game instead of the same one?
>>
>>379329962
>implying they don't want the Steam or bust folks

See: I already have Uplay, Origin, Steam. I don't need GoG Galaxy. Especially for the Witcher series.
>>
Let me get this straight, if you don't already own the game on steam, then you won't get the game (DRM-free) on GOG when you connect?
>>
>>379332632
Wrong.

If you DO own the game on Steam, then you get the game added to your GOG library for free. Nice attempt at confusion, though.
>>
>>379329962
That's exactly what they did with The Witcher 3.
>>
>>379322125
>MGSV
>RE7
I think that you should stay on Steam.Human garbage like you should stay on the human garbage platform.
>>
>>379332772
What? Isn't that what I just said but reworded differently?
>>
Why are so many people against this? It's free shit. And if you were unfortunate enough to own one of the many broken old games on Steam, you have a chance to get a working version on GoG.
>>
>>379333764
It's trolls trolling trolls. They're saying shit because they just get their giggles from getting people to reply, or convincing people of some wrong information.

I mean, there probably hasn't been anyone in this thread who has claimed "GOG Connect is a bad idea" outright because that would be quite silly. It's all GOG is shit, or Steam is shit, or paying for games is shit, etc.
>>
>>379333764
Because people are acting like it's the greatest shit when all they are doing is giving you something you already own.
>>
>>379335570
>Old game doesn't work on Steam due to X error
>GoG connect
>Get a working version of the game (since Steam doesn't give a shit) and any extras included
WOW FUCK GOG, MONEY GRUBBING KIKES.
>>
>>379322125
I don't get why you people only have to use ONE service. I use Steam, GOG, Origin, and Battle.net. I don't fucking care if I have to use more than 1 service because I'm not a bumbling idiot. It's not a big deal.

Don't worry, once the Steam sale starts everyone will start shilling that instead. Actually, people will probably be shilling E3 for a while before that happens.
>>
>>379337063
That's why people like GOG. It isn't a service you have to install or anything, it's just a website that sells DRM-free games.
