Eh, its alright. Not as good as BFBC2 (Which, mind you, I think is where Battlefield really stopped being Battlefield) but its better than BF3.

This being said, I really just want to go back to the less casualized style of Battlefield games like we had with BF2 and BF2142.

Played the beta.

The graphics are obviously amazing, and run really well. But the games feels too arcade...

It just feels "plastic" and I hate the fact that they added these upgrades or weapon customizations. Fuck that shit.

It had potential, but it sucks. The rush mode is nowhere near what it should be in terms of fun (like in bbc2).

I'll stick with Verdun.

You mean for awhile, right? This is why games like Overwatch are taking off, they're new and different. The most creative thing to come out of standard fps' over the last couple years is jumping into mechs but even that is barely stepping out of bounds.

Been interested in trying it. My main gripe with newer BF games though is the stupid unlock system that's gotten worse and worse since BC2 (BF2's wasn't nearly as big a deal) combined with the ridiculousness of vehicles (IR optics, etc.) in BF3/4. So is the unlock system still super fucking retarded where you get an automatic shotgun with explosive rounds that rapes face but only after grinding out 50 levels? Are the vehicles super fucking retarded or are they more in line with how BF2 vehicles were?

Unlocks in BF1 are very straightforward, once you reach a certain level you can spend credits to unlock a variant of a weapon.
Variants are attachment presets that have specific purposes like Trench variants being hipfire weapons, Optical variants having better spread when strafing or Marksman variants having a scope and less recoil.

The vehicles are kinda sucky but very annoying if you're on the receiving end.
