Yeah there def seems to be some CPU related optimization/stuttering issues.

Haven't experienced anything even remotely like that though, but hopefully they get it sorted for others, i've got mates with better rigs than mine that are almost unplayable at times apparently.

There's currently a full conversion WWII mod for Squad... and the game is still in early access.

You can watch some videos online, it looks really good.

Some new maps are coming to Squad, and other mods too. The devs said that they can't use "real organization names" for factions, since they are selling their game and can't put Hamas, ISIS, or FSA in there.

But some people are gonna add them as a mod, like it was in Project Reality, which is cool and more realistic.

You can go on their website, there are already like 4 new maps that are coming up really soon.

I respect the Squad devs, because they come from Projet Reality 2... which was an entirely free mod made out of love for the game.

It's absolutely brilliant for indirect kills, firing it at walls/roofs around people, around corners, just try to be a little more accurate with your shot placement and don't underestimate the power of volume, on maps like Hue City etc you should be firing the thing almost non-stop and just suppressing all the key choke points.

In WWII they hadn't figured out that you need to train soldiers in a variety of ways to be ok with killing people. One example is that In WWII they did target practice on old fashioned targets. Just in case you are actually not, the whole war was about containing communism. It was during the heated period of the Cold War no puns intended and the American was fear of the "domino effect" where one country succumbing to communism will lead to other countries around it also become communist.

So the American strategies for the war was quite literally "Bomb them back to the stone age" to discourage the North Vietnamese from taking it since it not worth having so many people dying for an ideology.

But what the American fail to realize was that the NVA and the people was not fighting the war to defend communism. They were fighting for the sake of Vietnam from American imperialist colonization(which they just recently finish fighting the French to become independent) into the country. It doesn't matter whether this is true or not, but from the perspective of the Vietnamese people, having your home and village getting bomb and napalm doesn't fucking make the American look like the good guy.

but since the American was still up on the ass about the "Domino effect" and the spreading of communism that it took nearly 15 year before they decide to pull out of the war and the North won 3 year later in 1975.

If I have a high vantage point or along the crest of a hill, that means I have 180* of being shot from and people will nail me at 132m every time I crawl up there.

Don't know what fucking pc you're playing on, but the performance is a straight-up lie and even if I hadn't have tried Squad on the free weekend, it's obvious from poking around the forums for 5 fucking minutes. I loaded up Squad on the free weekend, excited to play, and got stuttering <15 fps on the first map on low settings that never stopped or improved. Game is a hunk of shit compared to Project Reality.

I can get 40-60 constant in RS2 on ultra, and the game is far more fun.

As transport pilot you can right click to flash a big GET OUT text to your passengers and audio cue, as a passengers (or atleast as a squad leader) you can act like your marking for artillery to place a red smoke marker and tell your pilot of your desired LZ. Also as squad leader I've been using marking smoke when I need support from attack helicopters. You just have to convince them to play along.

It gets me fucking furious when sometimes it's a fucking sniper that does it. You got a fucking scope nigga how the fuck can you not tell who the enemy is when I can do that from 200m without one.

It also absolutely screws up any kind of flanking because your own teammates fuck up any chance of success you had by shooting you.

One of the American objective was body count.
But the reason why, was to stop the reunification of Vietnam that the North objective by invading South Vietnam.

So their logic was to bomb the fighting spirit out of the NV and stop Vietnam from unified under a communist rule. Their plan was to bomb the NV so hard and kill so NVA that the NV would loose both support and man power to keep fighting for communism. but they fail to predict that the NV wasn't so focus on fighting for communism but to fight for their country, to protect their home and family not some foreign ideology.

What was suppose to be just a few year of bombing campaign instead lasted for over decade of brutal guerrilla fighting in the jungle hell hole with over time the American war effort lost the support for the war which lead to the pull out of troop from Vietnam.

If you look into both world war 1 and world war 2, in WW1 Germany lost came from loosing too many people, man power, and the public support, which lead to mutiny and capitulate the German on the allies. while WW2 the German simply ran out of man to fight and at the end you mostly have 2nd rate soldier and even children while the mentality of the army was to head West and surrender to the Allies rather than almost certain dead under the Soviet.

It was in a sense a war of attrition, between the public support and manpower of the NV, vs the public support of the American since they have the technological advantage and being a world power.where if the war was ONLY about communism for the NV the war would have end way earlier an the American(south Vietnam) would have won the war

For a class that only has a pistol, unique nade and the nade launcher it feels quite lacking as a main weapon. Like, I've definitely gotten some really good plays with it but it lacks consistency. And yes the aoe is fucking small. It needs somethings more.

In short, shotguns are actually useful at ranges beyond point-blank. Expect one-hit kills as far out as 60 meters (or quite possibly more, but my record stands at 60).

The 1911 is a solid backup weapon as well. I can't speak for the TT-33, as I haven't had much time to use it.

You can easily nuke a running enemy if you can drop it within 3m and that is through light cover as well. Plus no muzzle flash or tracers makes it really hard to find you if you hide well. The balancing factor is that your ammo is limited as hell and you will constantly be running back to resupply if your team cant push the front

I cannot tell you how many kills I've gotten taking potshots with the AK, RPD, and SKS at passing Hueys (and the occasional Cobra, though I've had less success firing on Little Birds).

I just can't get into Arma beyond pick up games of Insurgency or CTI with friends. I got roped into a milsim unit at one point, and it was probably the most unpleasant experience I've had in some time.

The coach gun is fucking retarded good. I thought it'd be kinda shitty with the only two shots but I think I like it more than the Ithaca. Faster rate of fire means if you fuck up you get another chance, or if your first kill has backup you can get him too. And the reload is fast enough that you don't need to worry too much. If you're moving between cover and you'll be exposed for more than a few seconds, stand up when you're sprinting. You're faster, and harder to hit than crouch running

Don't run across an enemy's line of fire if you know or even think they're looking at you. One of the worst things you can do is put yourself into a position where the only way out is to sprint in front of the enemy and hope they miss.

If you have smokes, throw them AT enemies, not between unless you can't land a nade where enemies are. And for fucks sake don't throw them at your own fucking team

Hold angles that don't expose you, but give you a wide view of open areas. If you can't because it's a wide open field and there's only trenches around, (Hill or CuChi), then use as much cover as you can and peek for only a few seconds, and reposition each time. If you get shot at, duck and immediately reposition.

Learn how to hipfire. Hipfiring is way more useful than you give it credit for since it can let you come out on top even if you get into a CQB and you react last

I can give you some tips for any maps just name them nigga, and see how good is it, for example on Comissar house wathever role you pick that doesn't have a smg run to D as soon as the match begins with luck you reach that building before any other guy from the enemy team notices a moving pixel on the park, and once you secure the building you can kill the enemy team from the side before they notice the sound and send some guys to kill you.

Of course you'll get kick, the only thing that you should spam on cooldown is recon. If you end up TKing often, then ask a good SL to guide you. Usually, if you say you are noob and ask SL to mark, they will give decent marks provided that you put up recon before hand.

Use the faster reinforcement abilities only if the enemy had a really good arty or if you cannot afford to lose a point.

Don't use the forward spawn shit (as gook) unless you're mobile and near a point. It's just going to piss people off when you spawn people on the main spawn.
When playing territories, use gook anti-air ability to only shoot down spooky. Do not waste it on recon planes or any other shit.
Ask SLs for marks. If SLs are retarded, run to the lines and mark shit by yourself with binocs.
Use a microphone if possible. If you're gonna land arty barrage/napalm/spooky, always mention the place and the map grid where it's coming to.
Cancel arty if too many people run to the point. Bombing points directly is useful only if your team is on the offensive and will take the point after the barrage. If you're defending a point, try to get marks to the place where the enemy's assaulting the point, bit far away from the point.

Those should help a bit.
