Once you hit the soft cap you become eligible for pvp but you can't be attacked in towns and players incur a karma loss if they attack you while not at war with your guild. Also no, no one controls the market but the devs.

I'm nothing close to resembling a week or Notice me senpai weirdo, but the production value of everything and how it plays makes it worth it.

But I'm part of a weird minority since only WoW and FF14 clicked with me, I tried nearly all of the other mmos and didn't like them or didn't see them as worth it.

That's the thing.

I didn't know what MMO's were until my future roommate said I should try a game called woW (skipping tons of details).

I bought FF11 and WoW fron Newegg, tried 11 since I knew what FF was and was a fan. Played an hour and decided to try WoW out... and WoW won.

Although after playing 14 for a few months (I play like 3 months per year) I wondered if I missed out on 11, although I know they deleted accounts if they went inactive, so I wouldn't have been a fan of that.

FF11 is pretty fun right now because they've essentially converted it into a single player game. One that I found tremendously fun, even as someone who played it back in the early oughts.

But back in the day, the fun was just from how social and intense everything was. It's hard to explain because it just sounds bad, but the way everything was so arduous, plus a very strong aesthetic direction for the game itself, it really gave a strong sense of accomplishment.
