I actually liked that. Found it very useful to just cook some things here and there without having to remember all the recipees. But I agree they could've added some dishes that were unique to specific combinations with new effects

Try to beat the game in ahrd with Edea as ninja. even best geared, max lvl on both job and character she won't make more than 2k damage on attacks, while Ringabel as dark knight or even Tiz as swordmaster will deal that amount much sooner and without late-game gear.
