Can you still safely hack the 3ds?

As long as you didn't update to 11.4, or if you know someone with a hacked 3ds, you can do it even with 11.4

I think you can hardmod 11.4 now, there is a working implementation of sighax. There might be an even easier way to do it using a flashcart coming up too.

Yes, actually it's easier, safer and faster than EVER before.
Although apparently there was a banwave or something. And nobody knows what exactly triggered it. The consensus is - it's better not to go online with ANY homebrew/out of region software running.
Which is a real hindrance, since it defeats the purpose of freeshop and similar apps. If you're paranoid, you'd have to use the old way and look for dumped cias and manually download and install them.
I myself didn't get banned (yet). I never cheated, but I went online with homebrew/pirated/out of region software before, just not after the banwave.

Nobody knows for sure. But I'd assume not, as long as you don't flip the wi-fi switch on when you're using a homebrew app.

If your 3ds is unhacked, and you care much on playing online, don't hack it.
If you're already hacked it but you're using old method/CFW, go upgrade it because in the chance you get banned, you'll be easily unban it.

All those 3 series I have them on physical I don't worry for that department, I use cfw just to play undub version of my games.
