The best solution is to hog the shield to avoid getting fucked up, take shortcuts so you stay away from the pack, hit barrel rolls as much as you can to maximize your lead, familiarize where the speed pads are, keep barrel rolling and absorbing items for health. Just pick the fastest ship which is most likely Feisar speed unless you know you race better with others.
