Very early prototype, only stage I could find was the courtyard. Basic gameplay ideologies are being put into place however, there are flight paths for pigeons, some notes, etc.

Neither of those are currently being worked on from what I understand. Left 4 Dead 3 is though, development has slowed down as the project seems to be wrapping up and is currently in the bug testing phase. No idea why they haven't announced it yet though.

The thing that catches my attention is that everything seems very flat.

Sure I understand it's just demonstration of the lightening ability of the engine. But wouldn't a demo that's main focal point be it's ability to showcase different types of maps features?

((I.e. transfer, spec, metallic and etc.) I don't know how this shader system is set up so I'm not trying bullshit and pretend to know the art pipeline)

I'm not a big Left 4 Dead fan and I don't currently work on the project nor focus on it. I can say that the game does have some seriously cool VR elements though. For example, in one VR stage players are in a Minecart type thing and one player pushes the Minecart around while the others get to shoot the zombies. Gets pretty strategic from what I've seen.

It is using Anti-Aliasing and Anisotropic Filtering. Textures I got were taken using Source 2's in-game screenshot taker which downgrades a lot of the quality and I had to lower the resolution of the image to fit on 4chan.

It's an entirely new engine with Source 1 elements like Hammer. Maps can be ported over within a day. This map was ported over a week ago and the screenshots were taken a few days ago. Dota 2 isn't fully using Source 2, just some elements from it. Weird how it works. CSGO might be the same, but I've heard rumblings from the team that it may indeed be a FULL port.

Half-Life 3 is pretty much dead. Sad to say, but it's pretty much dead. Not for the reasons that the idiots over at "The Know" say though like "Developers were forced onto different projects" most people working on Half-Life 3 quit or refocused themselves onto different projects. To keep it brief, it died because of a lack of innovation and fun in the game. It felt like they were just making a new version of Half-Life 2 with new maps. There were some interesting new ideas for the game though, like it being done for a large part in the helicopter (this was probably the most recent iteration and had some VR support). Still just wasn't that fun to play though.
