Is there any point not vomiting out armor? 3 Tank Destroyers and 3 APC's seem to do the job much better than any combination.

Also general Company of Heroes thread now that some people like me picked it up in the sale.

I'm playing CoH 1 since I'm playing on a toaster and I heard 1 was "better". But yeah armor is so much stronger, I just use paratroops or engineers to capture points while my Tank Destroyers gang up on the slower tanks 1 by 1 and the APC's just wreck havoc in enemy infantry

Oberkommando, the faction I really want to get good at, kind of sucks because they only have 3 total infantry and they're all expensive as fuck, the rest are light vehicles and tanks. Which you lose so incredibly fast on offense.

Literally hard mode. Like the description says, you're playing as a desperate Germany near the end of the war. Takes a lot of pro-activeness to win anything

Everything you need to win is in very first building.
You can wait with teching to figure out opponents tactic and then fork to your counter.
When all plans fail, gather up your resources to summon non-doctrinal Exodia KT.

There is a reason why everybody plays OKW in tourneys over wehr.

After they removed ammo/fuel trading mechanic in T3, most of the cost and gain was rebalanced to normal levels.

Volks beat trading in green cover 2 Conscripts any day, not to mention their cheap upgrade removes need to even factor range.
Specialized units always beat universal ones if you focus them in one spot.
They have access to best tanks after Brit nerfs (excluding TD because those are american).

Sure, they are not as easy as USF but their only major problem is lack of any smoke discharge.

I never understood why the Churchill IV, which uses the exact same weapon that serves as the US AT gun, couldn't deal with StuGs and Pz.IVs at all. Even most of those "historical" mods seem to completely forget that a six-pounder gun should be able to punch clean through the front of a Pz.IV H, never mind the thinner StuGs.

A lot of them also give some crazy shit to Britain to be fair, but almost all of them forget about the Churchill.

Can't complain too much when 17-pounders instagib damn near anything and knock 1/3rd of a KT's health off through the front with APCR, Infantry Sections lose all of their weaknesses, and you get a 'delete every revealed enemy unit on the map' ability courtesy of RAF Bomber Command.

Churchills can still take on Panzer IVs, but your best bet is skirting around them to hit them on the flanks and preferably at close range. Still best to have some Sappers with PIATs to be safe.

Yes. Their infantry can outgun most probably except Riflemen, has reliable grenades and even carry med packs. Their tanks are also pretty brain dead in that they can just engage almost every tank without the need for intense microing like say t-34s.

OKW, same with the Panzer Elite in CoH1, are just too reliant in specialist units. The Ostheer is way more simple for beginners.

That was mostly in North Africa and Italy where fucked up terrain was more common. IIRC in one engagement in Italy a squadron of Churchills knocked out an entire Tiger troop with no losses by going full mountain goat mode and only firing when a kill was guaranteed to maintain stealth.
