I dunno, a lot of people hated the nes classic because we've all for years had free emulation or the originals for purist.

It's an official product, it has some value to a collector or a casual buy. I'm not really mad.

I'm not a Nintendo supporter past the n64 btw I haven't kept games on anything past that from them. So I'm not a Nintendo biased. It makes sense they would be like anyone else making money off a rerelease, ya know like any other company for any other product does with a hit.

What I noticed lately is at first $60 or in the past more like $70 they start out at, $50 if late 90s pc games.

What's strange though is digital and physical both do a different trend from there though.

Usually physical drops fast the first month and digital remains high a while before then being reduced 25 percent or so. Then by now the physical is at an all time low almost and still cheaper. Then digital goes on sale and is the better buy. Then goes back to maybe half or quarter price of original. The physical can from here either start to go up or get even lower then digital.

Eventually though physical will increase and be harder to find while digital gets sometimes free twenty years or so later or heavily discounted and way easy to find.

What bothers me is how little attention and outrage this attracted back when it was released. There were some people saying "wow that's dumb" and then it was quickly forgotten.
Imagine any other company trying to pull something like that. Imagine if Sega put that Mega Drive Sonic Compilation of 1, 2, and Mean Bean Machine on a CD for some anniversary, added some music CD and a booklet and asked full price for it. It's not because it would take up 2.5 more MB, there's no reason that would be an issue to them. It's a business reason. The reason they were so awkward about selling Super Mario All-Stars to begin with is because it's a compilation of four games that they already sell on the Virtual Console individually.

Retro compilations being sets of roms and emulators is a pretty normal thing. That's how everyone does it.
