Large scale PvP is the epitome of multiplayer. Very few MMOs attempt it and fewer pull it off.

Dark Age of Camelot was considered one of the best MMOs ever made because they pulled it off. PvP is what good end game in an MMO is all about

This is always my problem with being number one on those kinds of games. There's always some no lifer out there who will guaranteed be right behind you the whole time and as soon as you need to take care of some real life shit, you start the downhill trip never to return to the top ever again. At least in MMR scenarios nobody is ever the best for more than a day or two and it's wholly expected to hover somewhere in the top 100. In MMOs where time spent = points earned you will inevitably fall behind and never be able to catch up. It's wholly disheartening unless you're the no life chinese kid who can play for days at a time.

Thank you. It's fucking horrible. That right there is the primary issue with the game. The combat is decent and I like the idea of moving around, but the hardest PvE fights in the game are literal zerg fests where the boss does one shot cleaves that can't be dodged and everyone is expected to just martyr their way through that shit taking deaths like it's no problem.

The only time the game takes advantage of it's core gameplay is during PvP and even then a lot of it is going to come down to gear and whoever spent more time grinding their eyeballs out against the same group of enemies for days on end.

The game as a whole is just a boring grind where the only goal is to grind better than the next guy. It's supposed to create some sense of unending adventure, but it's just a terrible system that drains motivation out of you.

when you buy a pet it comes t1 and need to use their tier to get a higher tier.

So you HAVE to waste 140 USDx5 to compete with the never ending drop rate increase at end game grind.
You can buy pets for 5-7mil at MP
outfits can also be bought at MP for 19 mil or 24+mil if it's premium
(beggars can't be choosers good luck with the snipes mostly for pets no one buys those and puts them on mp)
or buy them for pearls at 34 USD/EUR for premium or 29 USD/EUR for regular outfit per character (oh yeah more characters if you want to benefit on contribution points/energy and you want them to look good as well or not)
Let's not forget 7 dollars for underwear or 2-5 usd for accessories To benefit you more in your grinding. (or for other lewd reasons )
Weight limit increase is like 6-13.50 USD people normally waste 27 USD for weight limit increase
Bag increase at 12 USD and you'd need at least x3 for grinding to the maximum efficiency
In total I would've wasted more than 600 usd just to keep up with end game in this stupid game.. luckily I gave up on all of that.

Korean grind games general have terrible upgrading systems.

Generally what happens is that you have gear that can go from level 1 to level 20. You pay either resources or sacrifice the same gear to level it up. However at high levels you have a low % of raising it and if you fail, you sometimes lose a level and reset.

For example in Vindictus the chance of going from a +15 to +16 weapon is 10% and failing will break your item permanently so you have to refarm and relevel it.

before it was bots, now it's this garbage bid system that doesn't even work as a bid system but an rng system.

from someone who played both beta tests + release and logs in from time to time.

its not worth your time
the only "end game" is node wars and it will take you weeks to get geared enough for the shit tier guilds who lose every time. don't even think you can make it into the top guilds who hold castles and are basically unbeatable. to get into top guilds you have to either be an already known good player (community of top players was tiny even after the server merge so all good players know who the other good players are) or have insane gear (minimum tri/tet boss armour, kzarka, good jewellery, and be level 60+) which will take you months to do as new players.

lets just say you are willing to go through the endless grinding of the same mob for thousands of hours to get into node wars. well the node wars themselves are literally a zerg rush cluster fuck. expect to be oneshot by the higher tier gvg classes many times over. all you do is literally throw your body at the enemies until one of you break (due to one guild either having more players, another guild helping them so you are 1v2/1v3, or they straight up outgear you in which case 1 player can equal 3-4 players)

the "sandbox" elements are fun for a little while until you realise its fucking pointless and your time is better spent grinding mobs if you want to be relevant.

but on top of everything else like shitty optimisation leading to you having to play the game at like 30 fps. the absolute worst thing in this game is the servers and specifically the desync issue where people will just walk out of stuns and grabs or if you manage to knock them down their body just slides around like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n9BpItj4aYs this doesn't look bad but in a game where you can die in a single stunlock having your cc/grabs miss is MASSIVE issue

There is no world where any person would seriously recommend this piece of shit unless they had brain damage. The whole game is a fucking facade. The graphics don't even look good in game because the lighting is all fucked and ugly and you have the most unreasonably obtrusive UI ever. This game also features the worst pop-in I've ever seen in a game and the worst part is that it is not tied to graphic settings but rather to YOUR SIGHT STAT, so if you want to avoid terrible terrible pop-in you have to stack up on +sight shit. If you have the player lanterns option turned on your game will look like a nuclear bomb just went off. Then the gameplay, you have all these abilities and what at first appears to be action combat, but again, it doesnt matter, because all the NPCs youll fight are completely braindead and you'll never have to dodge unless you're up against a world boss that just 1 shots people at random. PvP wise action combat still doesnt matter because it's so gear and level based that player skill has no chance of getting close to overcoming numerical advantage. On that note, because the game has infinite levels and such a powergap between gear and levels, if you are not grinding 100% of your time, you are wasting your time and will never have a chance to even hurt someone in pvp. Not like PvP happens though, because if you kill like 5 people the retarded karma system kicks in and will fuck over your character for a month if not forever(If you're in negative karma you are always pvp flagged to everyone, they can kill you without taking a karma hit, and when you die you have a chance for your crystals to break and your enchantments to go down[which is fucking insane considering the cost]. In addition the only way out of red karma is to grind[obv] and grind and grind).

So then your only option is GvG, and just like every other shitty mmo it's just a safe zone camping game where one side sits in town until their numbers build up enough to go out of town, rinse repeat. Crafting is shit because NO PLAYER TRADING. oh wait they patched it so you can trade potions and thats it. So rather than crafting being a profession for your character to provide a basis to trade with, crafting is a 100% solo experience and you gotta build all your shit yourself.

There's nothing to find in the world except grinding spots. Your daily gameplay at end game will be using your daily scrolls to fight boring ass daily bosses that are just a larger model of a base enemy that now can 1 to 2 shot you. The node system for trading is about the most in-depth system in the game, but all it amounts to is visiting points in between towns just so you can get an actual price on your shit. Not even the games most hyped feature, WAIFU CREATION, is good because the sliders are so fucking limited that you're either making a waifu that looks exactly the same as the default asian but with different colors or you're making a horrendous abomination. Male character creation is absolutely sorry in that there is hardly any changes you can make to the body. You can make females much larger than you can make any wizard or warrior. Classes remind me of balance, which doesn't exist. For years and likely to this day the only classes that matter are Ranger and Wizard/Witch, and mostly ranger. Everyone is a ranger because ranger is the most OP shit in the game and the devs dont give a fuck about balance because they know anyone playing this garbage is a retard. Player housing is a decent implementation that would make sense in an actual sandbox, but not in this grinding simulator. It's just cosmetic depthless trash through and through and has no impact on anything other than a slight barrier of entry to crafting.

Pretty annoyed at this desu. I really enjoyed playing on the korean servers before the US ones released, I stayed hyped hoping they wouldn't go through with the block...

But they did. Korean version wasnt fun anymore as the engish speakers had left.

It would have been okay if they realeased a version in a timely manner I could play, but they still havent. Like, whats the thought process behind that?

SEA is litterally full of whales who love the grindy korean mmos, so they just threw away money in my eyes.

I am not too bothered now, I did follow the game for a while considering if I wanted to get a good vpn to bypass but the extra ping would have been too annoying. From what I have seen the game will never be as fun as it was when I ws playing on the korean servers early on anyway.
