Nothing went right. The entire Metroid series is basically dead now because of this game.

Took a perfectly good concept (Metroid action game filling in the gaps of Samus's past) and marred it with a shoehorned theme of MUH MOTHERHOOD and made Adam a complete shithead for no reason.

Metroid fans.

It would be easier to ask what didn't go wrong. Which would be nothing. The gameplay, the music, the art direction, the graphics, the story, the level design, they're all a mess. Terrible game that tanked a great franchise.

To elaborate on this a little, Other M, in spite of all it's problems, is STILL better than something like TLOU.

Unlike that game, Other M can actually be fun to play.

Artifacts and Keys were the worst parts of the Prime games, but at least they could be gotten quickly once you know where they are and the earliest you can get them.

Wavebuster is awesome, Ice Spreader was only useful for Metroid Prime, Flamethrower sucked balls.

Thardus was originally going to be the boss of Magmoor, but they moved him to Phendrana after Nintendo told them to remove the Ice Beast boss.

Maybe but I think it should've been more than two rooms to get to Metroid Prime, I was expecting something that would have you using your entire arsenal to traverse. Always seemed like it was unfinished.
