I did, yeah. It was fun for a week and had a really good story. It also looked really nice. It has it's faults (weird facial animation, dialogue can be retarded) but it also has some really enjoyable qualities.

If you need a lot of hours out of your game to feel it's worth $60, it's probably not worth the buy. But I'd say it's definitely worth at least a rent for everyone with a PS4.

You know what? I actually think the first game being a financial success despite being a pretty bad game is a good thing. This means we will get the sequel and from my experience with HZD, the sequel is just what the game needs. Obviously every console sale doesn't mean another sale for Zelda, but it certainly makes a big freakin' difference when the Switch is 3 months in and has an install base of 5 million or less. As I mentioned, Wii U games suffered a lot for being on a failed console. Gamecubes higher sales made a difference for its software sales compared to the Wii U.

Combat is stupid. Projectiles feel like hitscan with trajectory trace, but even the trajectory feels awkward. Arrows has no hitbox and are 100% super accurate and always hit the dead center pixel of your crosshair which is a bad thing. Bombs, traps and shit like that are fun for the first couple of hours, but about halfway into the game the variety ends and you just use the same shit every time.
Crafting is fucking trash and a chore and doesn't work with other gameplay mechanics together at all, rather against it. You can remove it from the game and actually make it better. Out of arrows? Just craft some more while you're being shot at from 7 directions! Out again? No problem dude! Tired of being out of ammo every 10 seconds? CRAFT A FUCKING LARGER QUIVER

Big open empty world with nothing to do. Sidequests are 50% garbage and 50% broken, robotic vaults while are fun for the first couple of times quickly become tedious as fuck.
Stealth is broken, like zero AI for both robots and humans, just slam oneshot heavy attacks from the bushes to beat the game. And the game having some sort of variety to approach the combat (traps, bombs, bows, grenade launchers AND stealth) make it look even worse. Like if that's an optional way for some people who like sneaking, why do you make it so easy and brainless? Shit even stealth in Skyrim is way better, and HZD actually puts quite a big emphasis on it. It's awkward as hell
Parkour and climbing is weird. On one side it's a no-brainer "hold x to climb" and on the other it's "you can climb only specifically designed yellow ledges". Can't even climb a 1.5 meter tall rock? Fuck outta here

First, I agree, the Switch only has Zelda at the moment. As such people uninterested in Zelda or PEOPLE WHO ALREADY BOUGHT A WII U have no reason to really get one at this time. Horizon just needs to ditch the Ubisoft collectibles for more organic exploration. The flowers don't give you jack shit and the maps are a cop out. Player should be organically funneled to find collectibles in intersting locations.

Considering how the game is already a highlight reel of previous open world games (with better aesthetics and combat) I wouldn't be surprised if they take a page out of Zeldas book and reduce the Ubi influence for the sequel.
