Honest Hearts is definitely the most barebones of all the DLCs.
Dead Money has arguably the best story and definitely the best characters, but nearly everything it changes or adds to the gameplay makes the gameplay worse.
Old World Blues has a metric shitload of combat, but some of the enemies are bullet sponges, ammo can be hard to come by, and some of it gets repetitive (at least on repeat playthroughs). Get a proton axe once you get there and you'll be fine. The writing gets a bit lolrandum at points, and there's way too much dialogue at the beginning, but it does have some really funny moments.
Lonesome Road is just a linear nonstop battle against the game's strongest enemies from start to finish, punctuated with bits of dialogue with the antogonist. It's not what you'd expect in a Fallout game, but still manages to be pretty fun in the way Doom or Half-Life would be. Also gives ED-E more backstory and personality. Ulysses' dialogue is needlessly vague sometimes, but once you get what he's about he's a great villain.

I'm playing the Legion Quests Expanded version of the Van Graff mission Birds of a Feather which lets you ally with the Legion at the end, during the double-cross.
Thing is the quest was never meant to be played this way, half of the Legionaries auto-die when combat starts, and now I'm stuck fighting both half a dozen Van Graffs and a dozen NCR in an enclosed space. And even if I do manage to slaughter them all, despite me being criminally under-leveled at LV8 and despite the game crashing when I use the console to TGM myself of kill the NCR and Van Graffs, the Decanus which is supposed to give me my reward and complete the mission is outnumbered over a dozen to one and is killed every time, and resurrection will cause him to be unresponsive.

I'm getting a fucking aneurism.

What do you need help with anon? Mod Organizer was working fine for me, until I needed to use FNVedit. It wouldn't read the plug ins so now I'm back on FOMM.

Haven't played in a few days though because I'm sick of crashes. I've got the 4gb patch, NVAC, UPP, and YUP. Some other mods, but no matter what, around 45mins - 1hr I get a crash.

They're not coming back. As soon as they see the Legion flag outside they'll hightail it out of there. Not to mention the Powder Gangers's numbers are dwindling very fast. At the point you come across Nipton you've probably killed so many of them on your own to force them to stay within their territory and be on the defensive constantly. The trip back to the Prison is not that dangerous, specially if you know The "Grim Fucking Reaper" Courier has made their way from there probably leaving a trail of bodies on their wake.

Serious question: why doesn't Bethesda let Obsidian make another Fallout game? They've repeatedly said they would do it happily, the engine and the gameplay mechanics are there, all they would need to do is come up with a setting, story and characters and that's it.
Since New Vegas, the franchise only got more popular (and NV is a cult game), even if they don't enforce a short development time, I'm pretty sure it would make decent money.

You are gonna have to uncheck all of your .esps and shit in whatever mod manager you use, because pretty much any mods will break the FO3 vault 101 intro. Also, any custom races will break Tranquility Lane, as well as fuck up the transition from FO3 base game to Broken Steel, so keep that in mind if using FCO or Ares.
