Look at their cracks for a moment. They only contain a steam_api.dll which you need to copy to the same folder as the untouched .exe so it gets loaded instead of the original one once you run the game. This steam_api provides Steam API emulation and injects a license when loaded.

This crack is going to be no different if legit, only difference it seems to use an .exe loader instead of replacing a .dll.
