This is the power......of the Sega Dreamcast......absolutely amazing
I always dreamt about games with destructable envinronments and vehicles when I was a kid. Fuck those """"next gen"""" consoles pretending to push graphics ahead when they're only adding bloom, MOAR TEXTURS and cromatic aberration to the games instead putting effort where it really matter
>doesn't drop a single frame
remarkable
That's really cool though
>>379201720
What game?
Silky smooth
Step up your game sandlot
This one was much better

graphics sell
that's all there is to it
>>379203798
>dreamcast games have fully destructable environments
>modern PC games dont
really makes you think
could you imagginneee

People don't but PC for exclusives, Consoles are where the game makes most of it's money, Only recently could consoles do destructible environments on a large scale
>>379204295
What relatively recent games actually have a focus on destructable environments that don't just involve things exploding in a pre set animation and aren't physics based puzzle games?
Red Faction Guerilla and Armageddon, the new Crackdown, that one FPS game from ages ago that had deformable terrain that nobody remembers, Battlefield to a limited extent, and that's pretty much it as far as bigger budget games go
>>379204750
Rainbow Six Siege.
>>379204750
>the new Crackdown
Where the flying fuck is that game?
>>379205941
Probably going to be at E3, but if it doesn't turn up then it's dead for sure
They probably realized that the whole cloud connected destruction thing was going to end up using servers that they could actually make money from, and the game has had to drop that feature quietly
Real talk, Red Faction Guerrilla was one of the most fun games of its generation, especially with the crazy fucking cheats that let you hammer cars into buildings
>baked lighting
>all those textures z-fighting
>everything but the tank is basically a flat plane
it's not that impressive op
is this the part where youre letting nostalgia cloud your judgement, because you lust for the good old days again
LOOK AT THIS PS1 GAME MAN SO REVOLUTIONARY
youd be saying the same thing about xbox one games if you were growing up as a kid around now
>>379209082
"No"
>>379209189
Yes
The nostalgia thing, i understand it. But i dont go over the top with it like the contrarians on /v/ like to. acting like a decent game hasnt been made in 30 years
>>379209082
t.00 kid
>>379209441
Retro games are just better, especially considering the work they did with the limitations of their era.
>>379209651
well have fun playing your games with about 4 pixels on the screen. atleast you look really patrician now
>>379209441
No one goes over the top, the OP post is ironic and actually bashing the graphics.
And it's not about a game being "decent", it's just in recent years games don't really evolve as much graphically like they did in the 90s, they just look boring.
Same thing happened in around mid 2000 when there were shit ton of cel shaded games and people said the exact same thing - boring, while now people love those graphics since we mostly get generic blurry crap rendered by laptop hardware, even Saturn had more alive games then that.
>>379209082
No, ps1-era games were very technologically impressive compared to what came before them
7th+ gen consoles have shown very little innovation compared to their predecessors
>>379209771
>Waaaah they have bad grapicscscsc
Wow is that really all you got?
>>379209771
Actually, DC games run in such a high resolution in VGA mode that they look more crisp then any PS3 game rendered in 720p through HDMI
>>379210081
smooth as silk
>>379209785
cel shaded games
what do you mean by this? just curious
>>379210081
What game? Reminds me of those PE map cutscenes.
>>379210356
>Reminds me of those PE map cutscenes

>>379210479
not underrage, just not a gaming nerd that knows all these technicalities. but im always down for learning new things
>>379203798
And so do low budget amd shitters. But whats new
>>379203798
When will Space Engine have detailed planets like this?? What is that lazy fuck even doing? It's been like a year since the last update.
>>379210423
Nice, going to Japan soon so I might pick it up if I find it, don't have enough racing games for PS1.
Any others you might recommend? My favorite is 首都高バトル '97 for SS and the DC versions.
>>379203798
humans are holding back gaming
>WE CAN MAKE THE MOST AMAZING GAME BUT IT'LL TAKE THIRTY YEARS TO MAKE!
>>379210928
He stopped releasing small updates, hes gone the way of star citizen, a single major update a year, thats it.
>>379211639
Any hints on what's going to be in it?
>>379211169
Japanese exclusives? Running High and Bakusou Dekotora Densetsu 2 come to mind but i'm not really big on racing games.
>>379210081
This is Racing Lagoon
>>379203798
So what would you even do in a game like this? SUre its an infinity generated planet but what is interesting about this
>>379214137
you can literally do ANYTHING
>>379214304
Like what? Its impressive but what am I gonna do?
>>379214459Anything.
>>379214459
See those mountains in the webm? You can climb them.
>>379214137
Space engine isn't a real game, but you could add an actual game on top of that framework.
Seeing that really makes me want a small budget sequel to Blast Corps.
>>379214665
Wide open spaces with the odd building and vehicle
