You can have the lone wanderer perk and have dogmeat as a compantion and the perk still be active. Idk if that's intentional because dogbro doesn't talk or have any of the things most companions have or if it's a bug, but it makes him objectively the best companion.

That or strong with a legendary super sledge one shotting everything but mini bosses.
