Est actually has pretty good stats compared to other fliers (36/35/30/24/32 neutral bases at 5*). The problem is that every single one of her natural skills sucks. Throwing her at the better Armored units is bad because of her mediocre HP and bad defense, plus most of them outside of Hector run Wary Fighter, so Heavy Spear isn't good because she'll always take a hit back. Defiant Res is shit. Seal Speed is okay to let someone else kill them, but useless for her personally. Shove is fine I suppose but there's no reason to use Est outside of a flying team since you get Sharena for free anyway. She takes a lot of investment.

It's not the difference of base stats so much as the availability of skills that sets apart 4 and 5 stars. Weapons are the most significant difference. All unique and final weapons are only available at 5-stars, and a few more point in base attack plus more MT on your weapon makes a big impact. Some units with unique weapons like Eliwood and Marth are almost garbage without them.

What's the best special for bridal Cordelia? I planned on building her out more slowly because of the high amount of SP needed to kit her out fully but with the event coming up and to make better use of her in the arena since she's a bonus unit.

In the same vein, is LaD3 an absolute necessity for her as the 20k feathers is a steep cost to pay, especially on top of the 20k to slap brave bow+ on her. Or should I use the feathers to up two units for the event to improve my chances with two better characters?

Go use a calculator. A 40k feather investment, sure, but she can kill anyone. She OHKOs Zephiel, ORKOs Hector. She just happens to have the stat spread that lets her either
A. Kills anything faster than her
B. Doubles and kills anything slower than her.
DB is also innately on her at 5* which is extremely cost efficient and the +6 Atk and Blade w/ Horse buffs brings her an absurd 36+ damage... times two with desperation.

Chad will be in an even better position if the seal works as expected, but he still can't kill everyone like Ursula can.

Seals are lvl 1 versions of slot A B or C passives. The new quickening seal gives -1 cd at the beginning of the game and there is no passive with that effect.
Seals stack with their parent passives (+3 atk and +1 atk seal)
Now, if a quickening pulse 3 was added (-3 cd at the start of the game) and stacked with the seal, that is -4 total cd reduction.

I guess I'll go ahead and mention my idea for an obligatory Tiki of sorts. There's this desert nation to the west and its citizens worship their nation's pride and ruler, The Immortal Phoenix. She's a woman beyond humans who always dies in a blaze and reincarnates from her ashes to live life anew again. It's also a bit of a time travel plot, so you first meet her in the past where she's a well grown adult, but you meet her again in the present where she's on her next cycle and is a loli. As a unit, she turns into a giant fucking firey bird and fucks shit up with 1 range magic damage. Obviously she'd be a late game recruit with relatively high stats but also uses costly resources to fight. Character-wise, she's somewhat distanced from humans, but still retains a great curiosity about them and her supports and base conversations typically involve her observing hobbies she's not accustomed to and acting like a quiet observer. Nevertheless, she still has a bit of a "holier-than-thou" attitude and sees herself as being above humans but just finds humans too fascinating to really want to destroy them at all like some higher beings might be tempted to do.

She's not even a major character the plot focuses on too much, she's just a "side-major" character I have for this idea and she just happens to be a favorite I guess. I get really autistic about developing side characters in any of my ideas though. Though that kind of thing would probably be appreciated in a Fire Emblem.
