most people who play video games for a considerable amount of time (e-sports players do for sure) don't have very happy lives, they don't connect with the world like most

they get attention as they play a game, they don't do a whole lot of interacting, and when they stream, their channel is moderated. It's even better than if they had a day job, where they would get many more stares, insults and discrimination.

My answer was in regards to gaming as a whole, it's natural that some of these people move up the ladder to high level e-sports.

Just because they're in front of the camera doesn't mean that they enjoy being there. A lot of e-sports players are awkward hikikomori spergs anyway but money and fame is still a good deal, especially if all you have to do is continue playing.
