It could mean anything between jacking off in spawn, griefing, trying out an alternative playstyle or using an inefficient character/weapon while playing for an objective. Nothing short of constant apology and fellating of your teammates egos will prevent them from flaming you in the event of a loss.
Even people who spend well over a thousand hours playing a game will be at an inherent disadvantage if they don't do research outside of matches with focused practice.
This begs to question should this actually be expected of players?
I would say no because playing videogames shouldn't be something to be that passionate about.
Realistically, even with as much effort and focus as possible for a hobby like videogames, you will rise in rank until you plateau; there, sadly, you will still be a noob in comparison to the people above you.
In DotA 2, a player may struggle to climb from 3K to 5K mmr, but once he gets there and can have "real matches" they will still get completely blown away by someone even 1000 points above them, let alone the actual "pros" who quite literally play the game every single day for hours on end training.

With this situation in mind, can you really expect every single player to dedicate their entire lives to a game that cost them roughly a few hours of actual work?
It is possible to try without going that far, and it is unreasonable to flame someone who tries their best to the extent that they are reasonably able to without making significant sacrifices to do so.
People who respond "It's just a game" are very likely trying their best, so do not be so quick to flame others.

basically if youre not having fun, getting paid some games just arent worth the rage overall in life. your video games dont mean shit to people in real life, they barely matter to your friends or people into that game really so why
the only some what okay answer would be if youre streaming, getting content, or like doing something productive out of it

no matter how seriously you take a game if youre not being entertained or its not directly benefiting you, it just sounds like you have a sad hobby that could arguably considered something holding you back in life at some degree
