The 3d loses its appeal fast and I've had bad experiences buying used consoles, while I don't think you'll have a full slice of pizza in your 3ds like my ps2 had, it's still not worth the risk

Probably not gonna use 3ds or hack it. The only reason the n3dsxl is an option in my mind is I would get it rn instead of July 28. Plus n3dsxl accessories are overstocked in like everystore, where as with the n2dsxl, it might take a while
