The first REmake was a 'from the ground up' remake, too. They can't just 'remaster' a PS1 game, so every asset has to be created fresh, from the ground up. It'd also be silly to assume that the REmake 2 wouldn't have a lot of differences to the original in terms of level design and puzzles the same way the first REmake was "70% different" from the original.

I'm not saying they won't 'fuck it up', but "from the ground up" doesn't mean it'll be a third-person shooter with QTEs and shit.

Since they are remaking, what I'd really like to see is an expansion on how close combat works.
Give the knife more moves, make melee combat fun like in dmc but obviously more toned down to go along with re's spirit.
